crazy...the design and modelling is some of the best

Can't wait for this game. With the showing of this new squad, there's been a lot of speculation around some of their connections with older MGS characters (such as the Psycho Mantis and The Sorrow puppets that accompany Screaming Mantis and the Rail Gun on Crying Wolf that looks like Fortunes).

I was really excited and interested in MGS4 until this trailer. That damned wolf looked so stupid howling (I know... it's got a wolf brain or something). And the puppets hanging from the puppetmaster character? Wow... stupid. Is that necessary or even cool somehow? If I was some super-engineered killing machine badass would I want little puppets hanging off of me?

Perhaps they serve a purpose... until (IF) I see that purpose, I can't get right with it.

Oh well, it still looks like a really great game, I just have to overlook the crazy more than I was expecting with an MGS game.

I'm pretty sure i said this the last time something was posted about MGS 4 but still, after this video i just have to say it again. Why are the bad guys all so freaking silly? I just want to smack people who think this looks cool.

Zaku: considering the names of the characters i'd guess that crying wolf would be related to Sniper Wolf, Laughing octopus to Decoy Octopus, Raging Raven to Vulcan Raven and Screaming mantis to Psycho Mantis. But maybe that's too obvious, i don't know.

Rest assured they will serve a meaningful purpose or at the very least be very well presented.

Well although the trailer is old, not the very best one, but from the E3 trailer this game is gonna be amazing for sure, kind of sad its the last MGS (except MGO).

I am glad that Kojima thinks soundtrack is one of the key sections for Metal Gear Solid, and I hope Harry Gregson-Williams makes one of the best scores for this last installment, which I know he is always a great composer so its gonna be great.

Seeing that trailer and those bosses, got me thinking. As how inovative and will use new mechanics of MGS4, nothing can top THE End. He is the best boss in all MGS universe. (IMO)

I liked Snake's reaction at the end there, like "ive seen some really messed up sh*t but that tops it"

who is the dude narrating? I would say it was cheesy, but since its an MGS game i trust them to pull it off and make it awesome like they always do.

I know that as far as the names go (a mix of MGS1 and MGS3's bosses names) but it's a whole other field when going by some of their looks.

Disappointing graphics. I don't care what anyone says Lost Planet looks 10X better than MGS4. I mean Kojima Productions dropped the ball big time! Poor shading, poor lighting, green smear all over the screen, poor textures, poor effects, no motion blur

Anyone who doesn't feel like shitting their pants at the mere mention of MGS4 doesn't own a PS3. That's a fact. MGS4, GT5, FF13, and GOW3 alone negate any appeal the Wii or 360 may have due to their larger game libraries. Quality over quantity, as they say!

MGS has never truly been about graphics or realism its been about pure immersive enjoyable gaming not to mention some amazingly indepth story lines * and yes i know some are also beyound stupidty as well *.
As synce says Quality over quanity is very true but the fact he beleives the PS3 has better Quality with MGS4 , GT5, FF13 is a personal opinoin i guess - tho , Halo 3, Mass Effect and Lost Oddessy will do many other ppl instead, However since i own a 360 and PS3 i really personally dont care lol

plenty of nice ideas, but the graphics are very hit and miss, and the thought of hours and hours of codec and cutscenes sickens me and makes me wanna steer well clear

That's how its always been in MGS games. They are no less silly than any of the other over the top bosses of any other games. Why MGS gets singled out i have no idea.

Well I gotta say, Lost Planet did looks sweet for sure. It has more environment visuals, but MGS4 has great character models with pretty cool environment. Some looks very good some looks pretty okay.

I guess it depends on how high your standards are in graphics.

Looks very good to me, and after that gameplay demo I'm sure i'll get it day freaking one.

Well its kinda true. Lost Planet DOES have better graphics, but we all know MGS4 will be the far better game in terms of overall production values, story, voice acting, cutscene animation etc which is far more important than simply looking good. Metal Gear will have a ton more substance, more interesting and well developed characters. It will have a superior sense of spectacle in pretty much every regard.

Even so MGS4 does have a lot of time left in development so in time we could see a lot of major improvements, but even if there are none MGS4 is a total must buy.

The game LOOKS awesome, but how does it play? I didn't learn alot from that video, since none of it was gameplay :\

Should be the best game of 2008.cant wait another masterpiece by Hideo Kojima.

Okay, you can say that when actual games come out, until then, that statement holds true to nothing.

People where bitching that a year into the 360 there were no killer apps but no ones bitching about the PS3's no-show killer apps.
