I respect that opinion, but please don't play the old "you just have to be good to enjoy it" card.
I don't dislike unreal b/c I'm not good. I hold my own quite easily, I just don't see near as much strategy and team mentality in unreal games.
I'm more of a cerebral shooter fan than a twitch play fan.
unreal isn't about playing smart as much as playing fast and just memorizing patterns that help out. I don't care who you are, when there is enough choas going on, it becomes random to a degree.
We just don't agree on HOW much of it is random.
Just please don't assume others dislike the game due to a lack of talent or skill.
I am going to play that card because its the truth. When your playing online of course things are going to be random, thats the beauty of online gaming and why I personally don't even enjoy fighting A.I. in almost any single-player game.
I guarantee this game takes just as much teamwork and thinking as any game out there. Of course playing in a public room with a bunch of noobs is different from playing in a TAM server with people who have been playing UT for years. Why would you memorize patterns, that would just get you killed because you would be predictable.
The only thing I would complain about UT is that the hit-scan weapons become to dominate when your playing with highly-skilled players. Which hopefully they fixed for UT3.
