Xbox 360

A few days before the Tokyo Games Show, Tecmo and Microsoft unveil the very bloody first images of Ninja Gaiden 2, for the moment still a Xbox 360 exclusive. Graphically, Sigma has nothing to be ashamed of for now.

I'm a big NG fan, but I wished ryu hayabusa had a new design and outfit for NG2. I'm a little dissapointed in this area. Well, shows how lazy team ninja are. You can bet DOA5 will still use the same models from 5 years ago. But anyways I'm happy NG2 is getting somewhere.
I totally agree with you. I expected different outfit for Ryu this time around, but its still the same old black leather one.
For example look how big improvement Raiden got from MGS2 to MGS4, crazy suit.

I am sure you can unlock NEW outfits when completting the game.

This is some serious trolling. 1)Hayabusa did have additional outfits in Black and Sigma, so it's not like they did nothing. 2)with Ninja Gaiden 1 and NG DS the studio proved that they can actually execute very ambitious concepts that are very hard to do. Of course some of you care more about the fact that a character in a game has white blood but gameplay itself is still lagging behind 3 years old competition. That seems more like 'lazy devs' for me, but whatever.

NO offense intended, but saying this doesnt look good is shameless. So far team ninja never had a game that didnt look good, DOAX2 doesnt count, thats a game that took 6 months to make... DOA4 is the best next gen fighter by milestones. IMO looks better than VF5 hands down. And this looks damn good too, maybe it doesnt impress all that much cos NGB was such an amazingly looking game...

This looks good, but not phenomenal. I'll give Team Ninja the benefit of the doubt and trust that at 60fps with the animations and effects kicking in it'll look fine, but still-wise, there are plenty of games that outshine it already.

At least it looks better than Sigma (currently still the only game I own on the PS3).

Its not that the game looks bad, far from it, but I was under the impression that Itagaki was going for a new visual art direction for the sequel. And Im a bit surprised how close it looks to Sigma.

Like I said though, im sure the game is badass, and i cant wait to see it in motion.

Claiming that DoA4 looks better than VF5 only proves one thing, that you love the anime-platic look and nothing else. VF5 is, if nothing else, much more advanced on a technical level (also it's clearly the better game ;) ).

I'd guess that the beef people have with the graphics is that it hasn't moved forwards since like...02? I can play DoA4 but it still looks like DoA3, just a little sharper textures and some motion blur added. Gaiden was also pretty similar, in terms of graphic quality, to DoA3 and these screens just seem to continue the trend. So yeah, i can see why people are disappointed, they had hoped for this to do for graphics what DoA3 and Gaiden did on the xbox (bot games look incredibly good for the time), but sadly Team Ninja seem stuck in their tracks.

It is the technical level where vf5 falls completely, outdated graphics, physics, animations.

I honestly don't think that VF has worse animations than DoA4 and calling the graphics outdated...i don't know. You have to consider the fact that VF is built after arcade hardware and then ported to the PS3. And there are no physics in either DoA or VF, or what do you mean by physics? Some animations in VF5 are rather bad, yes, but over all i think it looks pretty good. I guess the VF design team sucks big time, but i don't see why it looks bad in a technical way?

You have to do better than "bad physics" to convince me :P

It very much looks like Sigma graphically. WTF?! I thought with all the Itagaki's god attitude comments, he'd atleast make it look double as much. Seems like that new tecmo kid on the Sigma front did a great job on the PS3 port. He's got potential to be PS3's tecmo side.

because it what people care about.....its difficult to prove a game will be good without having good graphics

i was being a bit sarcastic, i understand why people are graphics whores (i am one also) but the graphics in this game look fantastic,, behind sigma in ryus model since there is no self shadowing yet, but it should be on par if not better when its finished..the last screen looks especially good

I find it funny that people are complaining about compressed SD images.

Wait til the HD images or video before judging anything.

Nice, still haven't played Sigma on the PS3 (played original/Black). When this game gets closer to release date I'll pick up Sigma to hold me off and refresh my memory of the game.
