To wait until our Gamersyde Diaries, here are the first five minutes of Mass Effect as we discovered them during the parisian presentation of the game. These five minutes take place just after the character creation phasis, and here we have the pleasure to control a "charming" lady wearing audacious make-up.

he was reffering to the captain (the old dude with dark skin) not Comander Shepard!

Damn I'm impressed. Runs a lot smoother than I expected it to considering how good it looks.

The combat is still a bit iffy though, but I suppose I'll get use to it when the game is released.

The one guy at the very end of the 42 minute france vid who says "we are the reenforcements" is the same voice actor who did the voice for Carth Onasi in KOTOR!! SWEET!

And I'm not too sure about the combat, either. You can't even queue up moves? What's the friggin point?!?!?!? In KOTOR you could queue up like 5 moves for each character. Welcome to the dumbing down of next gen gaming...

whatever. I'm sure the game will be amazing anyway. can't wait for this. and certainly nothing on any other platform will come close. 360 ftw

Anyway, game is amazing for sure.
I have said so many good things about this game that I am running our of words.

I watched the Jeus-France site as well, great stuff.

PS. And for those who keeps bringing "PS3 looses" comments, don't do that.
This is about Mass Effect, not about 360 vs PS3 in terms of games or anything down the line.

They referred to her as "he".... For such a detailed game, changing the male/female references shouldnt be overlooked!
The face animations look fantastic!

In the full 42 minute video, you can see that he loads multiple saves, one of which uses a man. not sure, but the reference you speak of is probably from one of these points. fear not. i doubt they'd go through all the trouble to hype the voice work to screw up something so simple as this. im sure it was from one of the male save files which he loaded. and since I saw that vid already, I don't know what's in this vid exactly. so, u tell me. this vid is most likely a mix of all the best parts of the longer vid which uses different saves of different male and female characters.

From the cam in the streaming video it looks simply stunning. I hope it'll be the same on a 720p screen. I also hope that I'll be able to make myself a cute looking asian to play with. *evil grin*

That character is ugly. I hope I'll be able to create better looking one. Also I'm not sure if I like the noise filter... Otherwise it's really cool, only a few other games have that classic sci-fi vibe.

wow, insane boulet time madness for no reason in this thread lol, oh well, it has the opposite effect since its like sticking a big "DO NO PRESS" sticker on a button, you just gotta press it to see what happens

this will probably be one of the only RPGs i get, dont really see any others that interest me one bit, all the jap ones so far have been pap, and future ones look the same, theyre still stuck in last gen, and this is one of the few western rpgs that looks decent

however, how does the leveling etc work? is it as basic as Oblivion? hope not -_- weapon upgrades? etc etc, or have they not released info on all that yet

I heard "her" for sure but there might've been a point where someone called her a he during that convo in beginning.

Doesn't have one she was raised on the streets learned to look out for herself.

She got most of her unit killed on (not sure)

She gets the job done no matter what the cost.

I think the confusion comes with Anderson's line when he says "Doesn't have one" There was no she or he before it so all was perfect in that scene. No he was said that I could hear. Just checked heard all her and she's no he.

in the 42 minute vid, he shows how u gain points which u can then use to level up your skills and abilities. similar to kotor. now sure about grinding or if the enemies also level with you. that would be bad if they did. oblivion style bad (don't get me wrong. oblivion is a great game, but u know).
