Xbox 360

To wait until our Gamersyde Diaries, here are the first five minutes of Mass Effect as we discovered them during the parisian presentation of the game. These five minutes take place just after the character creation phasis, and here we have the pleasure to control a "charming" lady wearing audacious make-up.

I have never seen such a wonderful line up. Finished Bioshock and looking foward to Halo 3, Call of Duty 4, and Mass Effect. This is gonna be the best fall line-up for me...ever.
Yeah, me too. Plus Sega Rally and PGR 4.

dcdelgado, thanks a lot of the YouTube vids man! Those were just brilliant. They are definitely given a lot of the game away, but I suppose on something that lasts for many hours, seeing about 30 minutes of various footage isn't really going to taint your own gameplay experience..
Yep i agree.

Why is Gamersyde blocking links to the jeuxfrance video?

This kind of competition between sites isn't good for the users...

Horrible, Gamersyde has been going downhill the longer the makers spend on NeoGAF. Noone should defend crap like this...

wow looks amazing, better then i thought, good job it was delayed.

only thing im slightly 'worried' about is the combat...
it looks too complicated...
i wish it had fable2s one button combat, i dont have time to sit and learn controls, and more importantly (to me at least) i HATE telling squadmates what to do, i hate it so much, i just wish they would do what they feel best on there own. (although i think i heard some where that u dont have to tell them what to do if u dont want to, which is good for me)

It is one of the best sites, but I get worried whenever things start turning sour.

Best thing I can say, is a site should stand on its own merits. The videos on jeux are slow to download and lower in quality.

A site (or anything else for that matter) that doesn't allow competition isn't strong. This is the way it works with companies and nations too. One can isolate themselves, but eventually others will overtake them and leave themselves powerless.

That is, if this site is really scared of other sites coverage, and decides to block all mention of it, intending on keeping its current users, eventually those others users are going to find out anyways.

Still, nothing to fear from the jeux videos...

Oh yeah, so horrible :) Jeux-france is a fucking plague here, breaking every NDA they can, cheating all the time on the agreements we all make, proudly stealing and leaking content. Publishers get problems because of them, we get problems because of them. Clearly they're not welcome here and you're totally free to go wherever you want if it makes you feel bad.

Shouldn't it be up to the publishers to deal with stuff like that? If the publishers don't like it, THEY should cut them off, it shouldn't be the responsibility of media sites and the users within to stop discussing that site altogether.

When you have to deal with these guys since 4 years, and you have to suffer the consequences of their actions then maybe things like that can turn a bit sour. Like Snoopers said these guys are the main reason why the French online press has such a bad reputation worldwide.
Just a simple example, they knowingly broke their embargo by 30 minutes yesterday (they were also mistaken like us that is was at midnight our time I guess) just so they got all the hits of the people starved for new Mass Effect stuff. This may seem like nothing, but when it's repeated by dozens and dozens it's not laughing matter anymore.
So while I wouldn't have done anything about a post linking to their stuff, I certainly can understand why it's been done.
The day you see us removing links to sites like gametrailers/gamevideos is the day you can start wondering about what's happening to this place.

Well, I used to think you guys were LIKE Jeux, and I'll explain my reasoning. I wish the gaming media wasn't just the tool of the publishers. Information is released to 'legitimate' gaming media, and the gaming media works as advertisers for the publishers. Of course this is nearly how it always works in industry media, but I still don't like it. I'm not sure how I got the impression that you all were willing to do stuff that the publishers didn't necessarily want. Maybe it was just the foreign region magazine scans, I don't know. By 'associating' with NeoGAF, I just felt you have fallen more in with the 'mainstream' games media.

As a GAMER I prefer to have better information sooner. Breaking a NDA to me means "Oh boy, I get to hear something that's beyond what the publishers wanted me to know." I understand your plight, and I understand that you're basically powerless in this situation, the safest thing for you and any other media to do is to simply cut off those that the publishers want you to. It seems obvious that the publishers should be cutting off Jeux at the source, but maybe they're too scared to, or maybe they're just not pissed off enough. The publishers need their 'advertisers'.

My thoughts exactly. I was thinking "Oh this is nice, a pre-rendered cutscene with in-game assets..." and then I saw the dialogue options appear. NO WAY!!

How exactly did we associate with NeoGAF? I've been on GAF since 4 years now (in fact I went there because it was a good source for Xboxyde). Nothing has changed in the relationship between GAF and me (us), there is none.
I like GAF because despite lots of immature bickering it's still imho the best gaming forum around. I wish the gamersyde forums were as good and I've tried for a long time, but there just isn't enough people posting. I know I should post more here, but hey that's my own choice and no one can dictate what I should do.
Now let's close this debate, anything more about this will be bouleted.

The one guy at the very end of the 42 minute france vid who says "we are the reenforcements" is the same voice actor who did the voice for Carth Onasi in KOTOR!! SWEET!

And I'm not too sure about the combat, either. You can't even queue up moves? What's the friggin point?!?!?!? In KOTOR you could queue up like 5 moves for each character. Welcome to the dumbing down of next gen gaming...

whatever. I'm sure the game will be amazing anyway. can't wait for this. and certainly nothing on any other platform will come close. 360 ftw
Where are you seeing that you can't que up actions? everything that I have seen, including gameplay videos, has show how you can pause the game and issue commands to your squad, including things like go there then attack or cover or whatever. When it is being played shooter style, most of the demos haven't really used ques, but the times that they have shown a more RPG style gameplay, they have used paused and ques.
