Devil May Cry is as expected one of the stars of this TGS, with lots of playable demos available. Here is a gameplay video, with our excuses for the overexposure during the outside scenes. The cameraman has been punished. Painfully.
Update: Added 2 more gameplay videos, showing some more areas and the fire boss.
Update 2: Also added a gallery of images unveiling two sexy characters of the game.

Also, NG have the higher difficulty settings and those nasty missions which are near impossible for most too.
I don't think many will find lack of difficulty in either series, the difficulty is just very different in both.

Commented on 2007-09-22 14:57:23I think DMC4 will retain that button masher gameplay, but I'm not complaining since it has good enough art direction to make up for it. Conversely, NG has smart gameplay and boring art direction. It balances out all the same!

Commented on 2007-09-22 16:10:09I played NG and it was frustrating tough, i couldn't even finish the game..it got friggin annoying. You just can't do that game without learning the combos and just being plain damn good at the game
DMC3 didn't give me that frustration, i completed the game. I agree with synce, NG does have smart gameplay, but boring art direction, sure the characters look great but just looks far too like dolls to me. DMC pretty much has great art direction, score, characters and hell, Dante is just a friggin badass..every cutscene with him is good
still gameplay wise, i think NG has it pretty much owned on the hard factor, it's the only game i have actually not completed after buying it for the xbox. NG sigma on the ps3 kinda got me interested again, so might pick up sigma and try and conquer it!..though having wireless controllers for the ps3 might provoke me into throwing it against my tv.. *gulp*
Commented on 2007-09-22 20:04:45DMC 1 also had weapon switch, but you couldn't do it during combos, thus you had less to work and you had to work a bit harder to earn your win. I still personally found NG 1 more challenging than DMC 1, but Synce is kinda right, DMC 1 was a bit more challenging than DMC 3. I

Commented on 2007-09-23 09:48:42 In reply to mkk316NG is still a button mashing once you keep leveling up the Dragon sword and other arsenal Ryu gets.
The only thing that requires skills are the dodging. You basically can button mash all the combos or random button and Ryu still does his combo attacks.
The reason why you have to button mash in DMC is because you are juggling those bastards in the air and trying to keep them there to get the combos.
Ryu can't juggle enemies and you know im right (considering I owned NG Black and have NG Sigma).
In DMC most of Dantes (and now Nero) moves are aerial based, meaning you can be in the air more and to more damage, and not only that but you also got the guns that makes you press the buttons even more to get more combos.
So basically DMC and NG is still button mashin/skilled required, just depends how you look at it.
About the challenge...well I played DMC2 Arena mode and it was bad ass (don't know why people hate DMC2, it was awesome and Lucia was in it!).
I thought the Arena was challenging as hell the more you killed the more advanced the enemies and the AI got.
Kind of like Ninja Gaiden Sigmas "Survival" mode, or "Misson Mode".
But I for one will play DMC4 in normal first and work my skill up and go to harder difficaulty, or rather pass all of them, the same way I did with NG game (except Master Ninja).
You have to be on the ground doing nothing to access that, lame if you ask me.
Glad NG Sigma you can heal up anytime you wish.

For DMC-style Ninja Gaiden freeform juggling gameplay. Ryu can juggle, but it's not at all as necessary (or rewarded) as it is in DMC.
But you guys are right in that DMC and NG have very differing approaches to gameplay style. I think that the main reason is that Ryu can block and all directions practically invincibly , whereas Dante (Nero) cannot block at all, except in a specific fighting style. It changes the game significantly.
Anyway, DMC4 is a day-1 buy for me. It looks exquisite.

Commented on 2007-09-24 02:14:34I would pretty much agree with him on that. DMC and NG are very different games, to the point that they're not to be compared imho.
Anyway, seeing these video captures, my hopes for this game just went from none to pretty high. Thanks again guys ^^
