EA Playground is the representation the new casual target aimed at with the company Electronic Arts. Here's a new batch of screens for this game on the Nintendo Wii, which include a mini-game mixing voleyball and soccer. With the other one, we fly with hang gliders in multiplayer.

This game is gonna crash and burn. Wii Sports has a decent 'general' appeal. It's likable enough with the Miis that all ages and groups of people can enjoy it.

This has some of the worst art I've ever seen in a game. Most children will even be turned off by this.

I feel inclined to agree, and add Boogie to that list of.... I dunno. I just don't know what EA are thinking. It's a bit embarassing even. They seem to have.. sort of made their minds up about what kind of demographic they should be shooting for, and they've hired a bunch of people to create a look, clinically devoid of emotion, for that exact market. That market being.. whoever finds characters on bubble gum wrappers appealing.

The fact that EA is pledging support for the Wii was initially very encouraging, and SSX Blur is arguably the coolest version of those games yet, but if this is what they'll be providing in the future then they might aswell not bother. Like Jigen says, even kids are likely put off.
