While waiting for our gameplay videos coming in the next hours, enjoy these brand new screenshots of Assassin's Creed focusing on the cities of Acre and Jerusalem, as well as the kindgom you'll be able to travel on horse. Visually, it's just breathtaking.

If things kept going the way they are, Ubisoft may be the ones buying EA

But anyways, it was already well know long ago they won't allow themselves to be bought by EA. Even the French Industry/Govt put forth Money into Ubisoft to keep them protected from an American takeover.

the screen tearing isnt just from gamersydes videos, i seen on many videos the screen tearing and very buggy visuals. the game looks great and all but the bugs in this game are so noticable even from vids. kind of a dissapointment.

it's out in a month, thus must be pretty much gold. That said, the tearing is mild enough I never even noticed it. Next there'll be someone complaining of jaggies.

I loved the mix of languages in the video. Many people from all over the world who speak in their home language. Even some Germans ... Haltet ihn auf! Es ist ein schrecklicher Unfall passiert! Nice.

Too bad the guards weren't more aggressive. But I don't like fighting, so that's ok. I'd rather sneak up to my target, kill it, and outrun the guards.

i'm sure you would be able to increase the difficulty and play the game with more aggresive guards.

I heard if you get a blow to your head, you would die..so yeah, it can get really challenging

I'm sure they didn't do that on purpose for the videos, otherwise we would have a player dieing 2 mins after being spotted

They just add vertical sync to cure tearing, they probably need to optimise the code first before they put the sync on at the end so I wouldn't worry too much about it.

I have 3 problems with this game..

1. Screen tearing
2. Shadowing looks bad!
3. Cutscenes need work including its v-sync.

I am being honest here, I know I am very "omg it looks great", but I have to be a harss ciritic as well.

But beyond those, its story, concept, freedom to take down your enemies in many many different ways, is a must.

I bet these screen tearings will vanish, if not at all, I expect to some limits that we can say "atleast they improved it", same goes to the other 2 points.

I dont know why people are complaining about the guards. This isnt NG or DMC where you can pull off some crazy combo to deal with multiple enemies at once, its combat system requires a slower pace and more precise timing.

MK you got to also consider that its a stealth game, which needs tough and ALERTED guards.

They just stood there like building statues.
Non of them was looking around and see any suspecious character or anything, even if they do, I expect reaction from them and I do expect them to yell out to alarm the guards.

yeah but sath, once you do alert them, a whole pack come after you. Im talking about once you actually engage them in battle. People are complaining they attack you one at a time, which im sure they wouldnt do in real life but this is a game, and you have to give the gamer a chance to cope and deal with the combat situation.

Tearing is a visual issue caused by an inconsistent framerate. If you ever see a line in the middle of the screen where the frame is breaking (or, tearing), where on one side of that line you have one frame and on the other the next.. well.. that's tearing. Some people seem to be less sensitive to it than others but if you don't see it.. don't look for it.. because once you do you'll never unsee it and it's pretty damn annoying.

I wish I never knew what screen tearing is, I will notice it even if I am not looking for it :(

But still though, I want this game badly, freedom, story, concept, environent...amazing stuff.

framerate and tearing are usually among the last things fixed, and as far as i know this game isn't coming out tomorow. Chill

tearing is a product of turning off v-synching. It's can't be 'fixed' as it is a implementation feature which can be turned on with the consequence of lower framerate. The hardware's still not there yet. Though Bioshock has a feature to turn off v-synching, thus increasing the framerate. I don't understand why some of these companies are getting lower framerates in addition to v-synching, while a lot of the more technically complex games turn it on and keep a steady 30fps.

also, tearing is not a consequence of framerate, it is a consequence of the implementation not putting in the extra cycles to process the scene and display it in one shot, rather than in stages. Though the faster the framerate or movement, the more noticable it becomes.
