While waiting for our gameplay videos coming in the next hours, enjoy these brand new screenshots of Assassin's Creed focusing on the cities of Acre and Jerusalem, as well as the kindgom you'll be able to travel on horse. Visually, it's just breathtaking.

Holy wow this video might have convinced me to buy this. It didn't really seem at any point that there was a definitive right or wrong way to or away from the target. Also the different way to dispose of the guards - stealthily knifing them, throwing projectiles, sword fighting, pushing them off roofs, using one guard to block the arrows of another - awesome.

True, but then that would be extremely difficult. Look at how many people struggled with Ninja Gaiden.

in games you only have a handfull of options when it comes to combat, you either give the player complete control and allow him to hack and slash his way through enemies, the most extreme example of this would be N3 or dynasty warriors...this wouldnt work in this type of game tho. the less extreme example of hack and slash would be combat along the same lines of DMC, NG, or GOW. but again, these enemes arnt target practice with very little AI like in those games. they need a tactical approach. which is what assassins creed goes for. its similar to heavenly sword in a way, where its more about the fancy counters then the mindless slashing about.

i'd rather have combat thats as deep and option filled as the rest of the game then have combat like in the recent Prince of persia games where it felt brainless and boring.
