Capcom first detailed its push into the downloadable gaming realm at its previous Gamers Day event in April, but at its latest event in London this week, the company offered release targets for several of the anticipated multi-platform titles.
Rocketmen: Axis of Evil, its overhead action/shooter based on the WizKids constructable strategy game, will be first out of the chute this holiday season, launching next month on the Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network for 800 Microsoft points or $9.99, respectively. Commando 3, which Capcom announced at the event and had available for play, will follow in December on both platforms, also priced at 800 points/$9.99.
Talisman, a licensed Games Workshop board game in the vein of Catan and Carcassonne, will see release in April across both console platforms, as well as the PC.
Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix, also playable at Gamers Day, will "ship when it's ready," says Nique Fajors, vice president of marketing, but Capcom estimates a Q1 2008 release on both the Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network. Christian Svensson, senior director of research and strategic planning at Capcom, told us that the massive amount of artwork needed for the game is currently slowing down development, but that the additional time will allow the team to fully implement the brand new network code mentioned in our preview.
Fajors also mentioned that Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo HD Remix for PlayStation 3 will be available from the PlayStation Store in Europe soon, and that global headset support will launch alongside the European version of the game.
