Our friend DjMizuhara bought Wii Fit today, and already sent us 3 videos. It looks much more fun than I thought!
Update: DjMizuhara is really spoiling us with his videos since this time we get a video with picture in picture of him on the board so we can see how the game works. I hope the next one will be with the push-ups mode!
Update: One more, with this time the Ski Jump event.

I don't see how any of the "exercises" in theses videos will even raise your pulse, or even less get your body to the state where calories are actually burned off. And digital jogging? What the f**k, just get out there and run. And that pip-video of the football game, i can see the sweat just gushing from that guy. Yeah.
The worst part is that if some one made a real fitness application for the wii, or any other console, it would end up in the bargain bin at you local gas station in about a week, because planning your meals and gym time isn't all that fun unless you are really motivated.

I wouldn't be suprised at all though if this sold millions.. It's another must have gadget for a lot of people I bet.. To bad for Nintendo they didn't release this now, right before christmas etc, it would have made them a nice few extra $$$$ for sure..

Violence and the fact that they're sat down in front of the TV for hours. Something called "Wii Fit" with seemingly no violence, and a game where your child has to be active sounds perfect.
Stroke of genius from Nintendo, and from the looks of it, I can imagine it being great fun.
I'm also bored of these "Nintendo isn't 'core anymore" comments. They don't give a shit. They make far more money with their so called childish games than they do from anything else. Plus, there was a time where games were all about fun and not trying (and often failing) to be cult masterpieces. If you look in any medium, they all have different markets, like films with their no-brain-necessary action films along with deep, provoking thrillers.

Commented on 2007-12-05 13:15:25The only reason why I don't write "I will buy it, too" is, that I havn't yet decided, if it's going to be fun for me or not.

It's still an evil scheme at best. You won't get fit, it's a flawed measuring tool for body composition and the games are still just super simple mini-games that, in my case, will keep interest up for about 5 minutes a piece.
These casual games are great for nintendo and their sales, i just don't think they are a particularly good influence on the market from a gamers point of view. If i want brain training i read a book or go to school, if i want exercise i go to the gym. When i play games i want fun and challenges and exiting experiences, not third grade math, "stick out your leg" or "roll the ball in the hole".
