Japanese magazine Weekly Shōnen Jump reveals new screenies from role-playing games Final Fantasy XIII and Final Fantasy Versus XIII. It is possible to distinguish some summons like Ifrit and ~~Shiva~~ Siren, at least if you use common sense.

Siren has the wings. Shiva doesn't. So that is Siren. But Ifrit's face is a big departure.

kinda strange if that would be siren either way.. that picture looks as though it was a real human being.. perhaps its neither and its a friend of one of the characters in the game :)

i really wish there were places in the world like final fantasy creates! the art style is so beautiful, even in building details.

if the trailer showed shiva transforming from a bike to her summoning form, there were 2 of them, so shiva has a sister? a twin?

I'm not a fan of the style they're going for in this one. Then again, I've been pretty pessimistic about all the FF games before release, and the only one I really didn't like was 10. I really hope that "Lightning" girl is the main character though, I'm sick of all these whiney female looking teenage guys.

FF12 would have been about a thousand times better than it already was, if it just focused on Basch as the main character, like it was originally supposed to.

The problem with the 12th title was the too linear story. I liked the characters.
When this one gets a cool story like FF6 or 7, with this grafx... hmmm ^^

FFXII was good IMO, fascinating game but the best weapons could almost only be acquired using a strategy guide, which is ugly.

hopefully they'll have a playable demo for FFXIII this year. They were supposed to have one last year, but yeah, obviously that didn't happen.

that was an obviously weird thing that magazine did,

cause for both XIII and Versys XIII were said that real PS3 develepmont would start around october..

all the trailers before that werent running on ps3 hardware..
Cause Nomura said in an interview, they really had no idea what the ps3 would handle so far as far as FFXIII goes.

but anyway...i hope the same thing, they announced at jump festa 2008 they aim for a 2008 release but I doubt it ^^

Although these in-game shots look pretty good, there is a HUGE difference between them and these CG shots. I mean, come on. I see so many people all over the place wondering if these new scans are "in-game", and I often wonder how much they have been duped into believe the Cell is just that powerful.

those shots are nog in game those are pre-rendered screens meant to show what theire aiming at

The CLOUD trailer has that stuff with ingame models...
also said in a famitus interview

Those real-time screens look a lot like Mass Effect, with slightly more detail. But I wonder how the game will look while walking around the environments, or in terms of NPCs and animation.

No problem about that. That always has been really good in any 3d final fantasy. I'm so damn sure these games are going to look SOOOO beautiful. I'm gonna love these, I already do.

Every final fantasy game has had a completely linear story, remember side quests doesn't = non linear :)

Shiva is shown on the 4th page, bottom left, of the V-Jump scans. It looks like there are two of them, and they change into a motorcycle or something, judging from the text. weird.

ummm, you are making that up...especially the nomura part... Ive read most stuff out for these games, and Im pretty sure they said they got the game running on ps3 early last year. Though the Real Time segments in the trailers were made before that.
