Xbox 360 PS3

Digital Extremes releases an action montage of Dark Sector, its cheap Gears of War clone. It doesn't look very exciting to me.

Should have kept the sci-fi theme :(

Guys they havent completely abandoned the original sci fi look, if you watch the interview with the Rosenbaum, you'll see elements and characters from the original idea made it through into the game. We also get a glimpse of Hayden in his more developed badass armor. I dont think this trailer does a good job representing the game as its primary focus is just to show off the different weapons in the game.

MK I wouldn't bother with these guys, seriously.

And I think people saying "sci-fi" they mean space?

Sci-fi is "science fiction". even Resident Evil is sci-fi.
Just because its "sci-fi" it doesn't mean different planets, laser beams, spaceships...etc.

In the new voice over video they got like heavy sci-fi elements, but not sci-fi that goes 1000 years into the future.

Meh, I for one am buying it on day one, and I am sure MK will do as well...MK be prepared ;)

Looks pretty rockin' ta me. Quite a bit above average in the technical department too. Certainly nothing that appears in that video is enough to declare the game "boring", without even having laid hands on the thing. Maybe a bit of the hate could be spared for the games that barely put a fraction of the effort that's clearly gone into this one. Or maybe wait until you at least have a playable demo you can pretend is the worst thing you've ever seen.

And as for being a Gears clone, please list for me the best selling games of the last year that aren't derivative of something that came before in several different ways.

LOL at all the critics over here, spouting their generic bashing of the game by comparing it to other games. I'm not even going to bother with how retarded some of the comments are here. I'm really surprised they kept the original sci-fi outfit, that was awesome. Also, the mech armoured suits on the baddies are back! And then the glaive, elemental attacks, Lex Luthor (!) and the fantastic story. Day 1 purchase for sure.

And also more gory and awesome animations and sounds than Gear's chainsaw! Yes, I said this game has better kills than Gears.

I agree that the kills are better than Gears, because Gears had only one animation for all the enemies.

Start the saw and go from top to down, the end.

But in this one, it is different.
It depends who the enemy is, and it also depends on where you are going to get them with and with what weapon.
Not only that but the enemy has various finishers on you.

Gameplay looks alright, graphics also. Animations are horrible. It's like there's tons of frames missing in between or something. It's really annoying.

The animations themselves are weird as well, it all just looks so awkward. It doesn't look like a bad game though, but nothing that really stands out to get me excited over this game.
