GT5 Prologue images

We are still all waiting for Gran Turismo 5: Prologue here outside of Japan, so Sony tries to keep us occupied with these 8 new images. While they certainly look great, I still can't understand how it could take months to localize a racing game.

Can this possibly have all this anti-aliasing?

unbelievable but whatever. Maybe they should just focus on getting the real game done.
Poly is the only developer pulling this kind of shit. They should focus on getting the real thing ready instead of going for scraps (the last prologue sold poorly).

Because selling 1.36 million is horrible.

I still think it's heresy that I see an Acura, or god forbid, a Golf pootling around Daytona. Would have been nice if Polyphony bothered to plug in some stock cars (ie NASCAR)!

I don't recall seeing motion blur in my japanese GT5P and also don't recall all that AA. Even photomode doesn't have that much AA. The driver and the interior is very well modelled and detailed however. That's something I liked about GT5p over PGR4. The HDR in the London track, buildings, and "photo-real" textures (as how someone called them awhile back) also blow away the stuff in PGR4. HOWEVER, the reflections off the buildings aren't real reflections sadly. London track is also surprisingly short. I only wonder what Polyphony could do if they were to have the PGR4 tracks. Car models are obviously still very pretty and blows away the car models in the other games. I only have the Japanese version of the game so who knows if the American version will be different other than being able to play against other people in the US server. And I don't really remember if PGR4 had this, but the in-car camera is fixed to the driver's head so it bobbles up and down, etc when you play bumper cars. Also turning up "simulation" physics in GT5p makes the game much harder (car handling is very different compared to the "arcade" simulation physics), to the point it's frustrating to win a track since most of the later level tracks put you in 16th place and you have to try to get to 1st within 3 (or 5) laps.
On a side note, there're some details that are nice such as in-car view and window tint affecting the overall look of the road ahead, plus you know you're drafting when the outside wind noise starts diminishing. The tire screeching noise is still there and very annoying.
EDIT: forgot to note that car AI seems scripted. And it feels like the AI isn't even there when they ram into you instead of driving around. Forza2's AI is much better. PGR4's AI is "slightly" better than GT5p IMHO. BUT THEY DO make errors and end up in the grass/sand. You get a grin on your face when they mess up and cause other cars to hit into walls. For all I know, these "errors" aren't scripted.

To all those crying about having to pay $40 for the privilege of playing GT5P, well, all I can say is, maybe you picked the wrong hobby.

you know why this game looks better then PGR? The lightning is much better!
PGR doesn't even have self-shadowing, which really fucks my eye-nervs.
@ level of detail: I guess that the GT's developers tried to make sights, which are known by manies look great, but they forgot about the overall picture. Look at pic7: the huge commercial looks incredibly realistic, but the building right behind seems to be modelled by one awfully lazy guy!

Way I see it pro's for GT5 are graphics, sound and amount of cars on track. Pro's for forza are AI, Driving physics, damage and customisation.
Which do you prefer, more realistic graphics or driving?
I'm not sure why there is all this pissing on different consoles games, though. Both forza and, I'm sure , Gt5 are/will be class but neither are sim enough for me though. ANyone remember Ferrari 355 Challenge? Now THAT game took some skills.
