Octomania screens

Octomania screens

Already available since this summer in Japan, the puzzle game Octomania is confirmed for March 30, 2008 in the United States for the Nintendo Wii. An important fact is that this production allows you to challenge friends online while players try to align colorful heads to eliminate them from their grid (and fill up the adversary's one) with the help of the Wiimote pointer. Two coop modes are also available - story and survival. No european release date has been confirmed.

Isn't that a bit much? It looks like it could easily be a Wiiware game... Or a really bad XBLA/PSN game ($4 max).

Looks like a neo geo game. Normally that wouldn't be a bad thing, at least not if it WAS a neo geo game.

It could have been a SNES game by the looks of it, a little too colorful for Genesis/Megadrive. The art isn't so great, the character in that forth shot looks really poorly done. Do the background characters at least animate some? If it was a NeoGeo game it'd have that at least.

Yeah, not exactly the highest quality or original game, is it?

What's up?
  • GeRaLTo
GeRaLTo @Baleur: 80% of reviews are written by "drones" .Ign, eurogamer, teamxbox, gamespot etc are nothing but companies. Who cares 'bout theirs "reviews" anyway (46 minutes ago)
  • Baleur
Baleur Why are you discussing reviews anyway? When have reviews ever mattered? They are just individual people writing about their individual opinions. Might as well read reviews on music too then, lol XD (3 Hours ago)
  • GriftGFX
GriftGFX pfft text! we only care for numbers (3 Hours ago)
  • blmbox
blmbox Yeah, but judging by the content of both reviews, Eurogamer didn't particularly care much for the game anyway. They probably only gave it an 8 to avoid controversy - the review sounded more like a 6. (7 Hours ago)
  • GriftGFX
GriftGFX 6 to 8 split on Eurogamer, which isn't quite as large but still pretty significant. (9 Hours ago)
  • SimonM7
SimonM7 Yeah sure, but from what console reviews are saying it's perfectly adequate. I mean I'm sure PC is the way to go, but I sincerely doubt we're seeing a 5 to 9 split score wise or anything. (9 Hours ago)
  • GriftGFX
GriftGFX not that the Xbox version is "that bad" by most accounts either.. there are plenty of people here playing it who adore it.. but the PC game is recieving higher marks across the board (9 Hours ago)
