Same old story... PS3 screens look washed-out, 360 screens overly dark. I think by now these console owners (like myself) have adjusted their TVs accordingly.
Nothing to see here folks (unless you see a great game for two great consoles)... Move along :-)

The cinematics are FMV using in-game engine according to the developers. Something to do with issues with the animation. So the only difference between the cutscenes are color and people can adjust their tvs anyway. Noticible difference in quality between the two with real game shots, but they are in different areas and the FEAR engine is known to be very hit or miss.

Initial video/screenshot comparisons were done without using any type of system enabled `tweek`, so because the 360 has all it`s full range RGB etc turned up by default, these comparisons seem way over the top IMO.
I bet any money that these screens were taken from a Ps3 that hadn`t had any of it`s `Tweeks` enabled, thus rendering this particular comparison arguably laughable.
I am a huge fan of both consoles, but the Ps3 should at least be allowed some slack because with all the juicy games and ideas that are coming out on the system this year, the 360 has ALOT of catching up to do!.
That aside these arent shots taken by some shmoe on the net, they are from the publishers which means they are from the frame buffers, output settings on the console wouldnt change how they look.
The same can be said for other PS3 vs 360 games, 90% of people havent set there reference level in the 360 dash which clearly improves whites, blacks and gives colors more pop. I have yet to find a game that doesnt improve in quality when you turn reference level up which is basicly the same as white and rgb settings all rolled into one.
Either way not alot of TV's support full rgb anyways, so turning it on could give a biased representation of graphics. Only high quality tv's and tv's being made in the last few months support the feature. My friends year old Sony LCD doesnt despite the fact that its HDMI and PS3 ready.

THE PS3 IMAGES LOOKS BLAND BECAUSE THEY TOOK SCREENSHOTS WITHOUT USING FULL RANGE RGB. YOU HAVE TO USE THE RIGHT CAPTURING TOOL TOO. I CAN'T UNDERSTAND WHY PEOPLE DON'T BOTHER TO CHECK FACTS BEFORE YELLING XBOX 360 VERSION LOOKS BETTER BLA BLA BLA.

DOX, remember though, that early comparisons were taken when the 360 was in it`s infancy stage (no HDMI out), so reference levels are only available once a vga cable had been hooked up. I haven`t tried a Ps3 with the standard output to see if these new `tweeks` can be applied, but I presume that they could be turned on with no noticeable difference via 480i/p ?.
Plus, the reference level settings via HDMI on my 360 didn`t do anywhere near the amount that the Ps3 did and they`re both running on a 24" 1920x1200 monitor @ 1080p via the same HDMI cable too.
I`m just saying that the feature is a necessary one for Ps3 owners and it`s good that someone has pointed it out. It`ll never take away the lack of AA on the Ps3`s part, but the console itself is getting there slowly lol.
Bring on LittleBigPlanet and Gran Turismo......I need something to play "aaaarrrrgggh!!!!!".

Everyone,
Just relax, the difference isn't that great besides the color/gamma/whatever.
Also, 360 and PS3 games will always have jaggies and other imperfections with texture quality/filtering. The way you guys sound, you'd only be satisfied running 1:1 resolution from a PC game to your display with 8XAA/AF, which is how I like it as well, but PS3 and 360 are where most of the games are at.

Thus, any comparisons between the two versions are invalid and premature.

But in all honesty, aside from the blurry texture maps and jaggiez on the PS3 version, I REALLY hope these shots are taken with Full RGB turned OFF. But don't the PR guys have dev kits which can capture from HDMI? Unless the PR guy is a n00b, which most are (most PR guys are failed developers who couldn't actually do anything productive). So, it wouldn't be surprising to say the least. There's just GOT to be a reason for the PS3 version's contrast looking this bad. I shall continue wondering...

Oh for crying out loud, are people really so stupid to think that the Xbox 360 has more "colour"? LOL
Clearly, the setup and method of capture for the two versions was not equal.
