Final Fantasy Cristal Chronicles: My Life as a King unveils itself again, this time through a trailer shown at the Games Developer Conference (GDC) 2008. As a reminder, this game is built exclusively for the WiiWare service offered by the Nintendo Wii and you will have to build your kindgom in it. That said, a castle will have to be surrounded by various shops, and you will be able to further the borders by engaging heroes or by taxing your citizens.

Looking really nice, will be getting this no doubt.

I guess this is something like Dark Cloud in that you build your own towns etc, looks very interesting :D

Wonder if it will be as terrible as the first game, the first one was clearly the worst RPG I've played that year wich says quite a lot.

CC wasn't that bad. Sure, as a single player game. But it was quite fun with 'at least' 3 players (because with 2 it's almost the same as alone, because the other player always carries that damn thingy). With 3 or 4 people it was great fun, but not fun enough to be worth the expensive setup.

You must have played it all by your lonesome. The original CC is best compared to Rock Band. Yawnsville by itself, but exponentially better the more friends you add. I thoroughly enjoyed my romp through it with 2 friends. And I personally loved the bucket mechanic. Then again, I actually enjoy strange limitations in games when it spawns innovative play mechanics.

But worry your silly little head not, this game is NOTHING like the other CC games. It's more a town-building sim. The best analogy this: Most FF's, you are the hero, going into a town, the king gives you some quest, you fight monsters and finish the quest and the king rewards you. In THIS game, you more or less play the king. You manage heroes who handle things for you so that your kingdom can prosper. I am THOROUGHLY looking forward to it.
