Some new stuff for Mirror's Edge

Digital Illusions offers a variety of concept art for its upcoming Mirror's Edge awaited on PC, Playstation 3 and Xbox 360. The abondance of colors is catchy, a welcome change from the boring filters used by many other developers.

Disclaimer : the source being portuguese, it was difficult to classify the following images in their respective category. I used instinct, and if there's an error, I'm already sorry.

The story is around Faith, so I presume she is the only playable character.

This game reminds me of that game Breakdown or something.. FPS at it's best..

Not if she doesn't have to. They won't lend you submachine guns, assault rifles, RPG...etc. this isnt your typical FPS. Guns will be there, but the developers want to encourage you not to use any.

If so, then this is looking more and more like Breakdown 2.0, which intrigues me.

edit: btw if you guys haven't played breakdown you should consider trying it. It was a really fun game.

i agree with Jato, i seriously doubt it looks like this. There was nothing in that preview that said that it looks like the screenshots shown, all he said was it looked "good." If it looked as good as in those screens, im sure the people who got to see it would have gone into much more detail and showed a little bit more enthusiasm towards the graphical aspect than to just say it looks "good," and then quickly move on to talk about the gameplay.

One of those concept arts isn't a cocenpt art, namely the ornage and blue theme undergroudn station.

I was going to buy Breakdown long time ago, but I asked someone here in Gamersyde and their advice was not to get it, it had alot of glitches and all that.

Breakdown was one of the games that interested me back in the day, but I couldn't get my hands on it in any store.

The whole idea of you seeing everything through the charcaters eyes was something really cool and intense for combat...etc.

When I first saw Mirror's Edge the first thing that came in my head was Breakdown.

Holy crap. Those concepts are so amazing, I thought they were CG concepts. Incredible.

Although PDZ was a very fun game, this looks like it's going to be what PDZ could or should have been.

Thanks for the link to the article, though I don't quite get you're point. But I agree, the screenshots displayed (real or not) look amazing!

You probably would've declared everyone here crazy out of their pants after playing the game for the first 1 or 2 hours (as the beginning is awesome no doubt). After that though...

Finally a game in first person perspective that will deliver physical awareness and not just a floating gun moving around on screen. My hat also goes off to "The Chronicles of Riddick" and "Condemned" 1 and 2. I just hope this game reaches my expectations.

In practice what you see is an object glowing bright red against the game's largely white and cool-blue palette (one of the first screenshots illustrates the concept).

Sounds like that's exactly what they're going for...
