Awesome! I don't mind that it's on PS2, but why the hell is this game still 4:3?!
This game should have been on the PS3 and I REALLY mind it being on the PS2, they could have at least brought it to the Wii instead of the PS2.
that may sound trite but that is really pretty much your counter to it
it has nothing to do with being "stuck in the past". i don't know why some ppl seem to think devs make this some sort of personal statement to stick it to the gamers or something. some sort of personal insult.
the fact is they decided to make Persona 4 on the ps2 because the ps2 still makes good money, because ppl still buy new games for it and they stand a better chance of making money on it than the other consoles (and considering their name isn't Nintendo or S-E, that includes the Wii). so until that isn't the case, the ps2 is going to be a completely viable option in their book.
don't like it? don't buy it. and when that actually starts to affect the viability of the ps2, then they'll change.
as an analyst recently said (i forget who atm, but who it was isn't really important), at this point the ps2 should be considered right in there with any of the "current gen" consoles, as on any given month its still capable of huge hardware sales as well as still being a major software platform force.
I prefer a game closest to any previous titles in the series, at least not another game about a bunch of kids (and a dog) saving the world (so lame), with an unconvincing and poorly structured story.

I'm going to want my PS3 to take over my PS2's current responsibilities as my main Japanese RPG console.
