Soul Calibur IV scan

Soul Calibur IV scan

It's become usual now, Famitsu this week reveals a new female fighter for Soul Calibur IV. She's called Angol Fia, and hopefully we'll get better scans soon.

I think that it's "Angol Fear" as it says on the page.

:O)

Also confirms Amy and Cerventes?
Commented on 2008-03-26 11:02:59
And Zasalamel. Now if they just would confirm Talim and Setsuka I'd be pretty thrilled with the line up.

Angol Fear looks cooler than the goofy elf chick.

That's just because the Japanese can't speak or spell correctly :P
Kana sucks.

Amy was one of the shop keepers?

She also appeared in the intro to SCII as the little girl with Rapheal, and she was playable in the arcade version of SCIII. Not sure why we need so many rapier wielding characters now..

Oh I thought she was the one with the Tambourines. I think she looked like a milk maid?

Anyone know if they've confirmed that you can use custom characters online yet?

edit: oh just found it on the wiki that it's in there! http://www.1up.com/do/newsStory?cId=3160573

Oh. My. God. So much win in this game. The doujinshi artists are going to have a blast with it. Seriously, fuck Itagaki and his plastic dolls.

That makes three new female characters. Have they announced any new male characters (other than the Star Wars ones) yet?

I'm liking the new characters quite a bit.

Dead or Alive has nothing to do with this game.

I don't mind Amy but the girl on the left seems too much like a guilty gear character than a soul calibur character.

Agreed. She totally doesn't belong at all.

As for Amy, to me she just looks like yet another boring-as-fuck character that I can't see anyone getting excited about.

To be honest though, I dislike most girl characters in fighting games. I don't really get any satisfaction from being really quick and feeling like my attacks have no weight behind them. Plus, I get frustrated when fighting against them; I always feel like they're cheap.

Seriously, this girl and the elf eared one doesn't seem very Soul Caliber-esque too me either.

Amy has drill pigtails, which is a recent craze as far as character design in Japan. See... everything for a reason.

So what I inferred from what you just wrote was "Amy's creator isn't very creative."

That an accurate assessment?

None of these people are very creative or they wouldn't be working in videogames.

However I personally do like the design just fine, I'm basically fully positive on the thing.

It's just so boring and couldn't be more forgettable.

I absolutely hate anything remotely schoolgirlish in the context of fighting games. I'm just so angry that these characters are being "revealed" to us like some kind of fantastic surprise, when in reality, they look like a bunch of second-rate characters that you couldn't pay me to use.

You don't have to worry about that with games like this. With so many female characters in the soul calibur series there will be lightweight and heavyweight female fighters. Actually, Ivy and Setsuka moved like heavyweights last time I remember.

About the game

What's up?
  • Tinks
Tinks All in all though I think the competition has really brought some of the best tv since the 90's when it was Fox vs Nbc (5 minutes ago)
  • Tinks
Tinks Also I think it's just called Muppet Show. Not sure who's involved really (5 minutes ago)
  • Tinks
Tinks Last Week Tonight is solid but I'd never wait for it to come on. (6 minutes ago)
  • Tinks
Tinks True Detective and GoT are the only things I swear by on HBO. Montage of Heck was cool but imperfect (6 minutes ago)
  • droezelke
droezelke It might even be the other way round. HBO is trying to catch up with Netflix with their streaming service HBO Go. (39 minutes ago)
  • droezelke
droezelke @GriftGFX: me neither. But they are definitely competing with HBO. They do produce shows, they produce documentaries, animation series. So I would say they are a TV network AND a streaming service. (43 minutes ago)
  • GriftGFX
GriftGFX I just have a different take. Netflix isn't a TV network, and from nothing they've built a quality line up. I don't like every show on HBO either. (57 minutes ago)
