Commented on 2008-03-28 16:22:28 In reply to Dre_reallaThe sad part about some of you guys comments is that they have a strong racist undertone and you probably don't even consider it racism.
Seriously, do you honestly think that this game will be good and that the only reason people would be skeptical is that they are racist?
Epic. Fail.

Commented on 2008-03-28 17:42:04PS. I'm pretty fond of rap/hip-hop, and 50 is crap.

Commented on 2008-03-28 20:40:44 In reply to Dre_reallaIt's already been mentioned, but this is a completely RIDICULOUS way to use a license(one that is NOT suited for video games). And yes, Aerosmith and KISS were stupid licenses too(not the GH Aerosmith one however). It's not fucking racist to think so...don't be such a drama queen.

Commented on 2008-03-29 00:35:44I went to high school with this imbecile who, with the help of his "posse," tried picking a fight with my friend because my friend sat in his seat on the bus. Yup..he just sat in his seat. That's it. The imbecile in question said that my friend was "disrespectin' " and "frontin'." Now, I'm not saying it's the music's fault, but that thug-life bullshit certainly doesn't help. I mean, I've never heard of East Coast and West Coast feuds forming between rock bands that erupt into drive-by shootings.
Once again, I'm not saying the music necessarily has anything to do with it, but the image projected by some of these rappers seems to perpetuate the idea that being a "hard" thug is glamourous and certainly doesn't dissuade people from following what they think is the same path. The aforementioned imbecile wasn't raised in "da hood" or anything like that; he was a white guy from a small farming town.
Commented on 2008-03-29 02:41:36 In reply to RonsauceThis topic didn't deserve 90+ comments or as much of an emotional investment as has been demonstrated by it's participants. That being said, some of the responses in this topic have been spot on. There have indeed been hints of race baiting in some comments, but the real question is why? The reason is so plain and simple.
50 Cent II is being made because the first game went platinum.
That's it. No other reason.
The discussions on race, popular culture, the relevance of rap and hip hop as a musical art form and other comments normally are never needed to put a game like 50 Cent II in it's proper perspective as a gaming experience.
Normally gamers here will sound off in the usual fashion...
"Doesn't look good"
"I won't be buying this"
But strangely that didn't happen in this topic. Instead, some (rather passionately) veered off message and produced the 4 page discussion we have right now.
Let this topic die people
Commented on 2008-03-29 15:27:24i dont approve of the degenerate nonsense that gets spewed. songs about women being sex-objects, songs about killing police, songs about how bad-ass it is to be "thuggin" "pimppin" and other such bullshit. What sane person would consider such dross a posetive influence. its the same reason i dont like bands like maryln manson(white), insane clown posse(white), etc. the culture has NOTHING to do with it.
in response to grim, well bud, your probably right, but there is an insane rash of thats racist bullshit that goes on, and i hate people throwing that out there whenever a minority is involved. people said the game was crap, others accused us of being racist, that shit doesnt fly, and i get pretty damn defensive, as do other people. Racism is...fuck, im tired of explaining this. Get a damn brain people!!!!!! stop flipping the race card over trife, everyone is so damn sensetive about being racist, they go extreme into the other direction! ok, im done
Commented on 2008-03-31 13:36:00 In reply to Dre_reallaOh yeah, I'm black, I haven't seen anything against me, please don't read too much into what people post, or think, just think if they are racist, then you need to be better than them!!!
Commented on 2008-03-31 23:05:59As for 50 Cent, I can't think of a cleverer businessman in recent times. 6 pics of his game get shown and all these comments on one forum? I'm not surprised the last game sold.
It doesn't matter if you hate it or love it, all publicity is good publicity. Look at Manhunt.
I think jeenyus was the only one to hit the nail on the head, while the rest of you bickered over nothing.
It is a game made to cash in, just like all the brain training spin offs and all the need for speeds that have come and gone.
What makes this one stand out is that 50 Cent is a phenomenonally well marketed product.
Do you really and truly think that 50 Cent acts like 50 Cent 24 hours a day? He got rich by making himself a product. He may not be the best rapper/artist in the world, but he definitely knows how to sell himself.
Type in 50 cent in Google and see how many links, fan sites and news items you find on this one guy.
If you ask me, I'm surprised he hasn't made more games.
If it plays anything like the last one, then its gonna be a stinker, but don't knock the hustle unless you can come up with something better.
Remember, he is a multimillionaire business man first, not a thug. Don't fall victim to the hype.
