PC Xbox 360 PS3

It's been a long time since the last time we heard about Red Faction: Guerrilla ! The third instalment of this mediocre but quite singular series is now showcased through a new pack of screenshots. It doesn't look very good, but we'll wait for videos of the destruction engine before being worried about it.

Well, the graphics are flashy enough, but let's see if the series can lift itself from mediocrity that plagued the first two games. I hope so. :)

YEY more FPS, such a joyfull occasion .

And snoopers to say it does not look very good? your expectations of games graphics must be rather over the top.

The screens look genuine enough. A few rough edges here and there, but overal it's looking absolutely stunning!

I just hope the environments won't be too repetitive as I fear it will, considering this will be an open-world based game on Mars of all planets. :|

Lol @ xxxfudgexxx

The first red faction was ok, (considering it was a fairly early ps2 game) The second was a bit yawnish I agree.

the multiplayer did it for me in the previous games tbh, but that first screenshot in particular strikes me, VERY atmospheric.

I thought I read somewhere that this was a Gears of war kind of over the shoulder game so that makes it 3rd person not FPS.

Edit: And I just checked the wikipedia site for the game and it says third-person shooter too

Glorious. I absolutely loved the First Red Faction. Didn't play the second one, but to my knowledge Red Faction is still the only game where you can and must blow up walls in order to get to some hidden spaces. The guns were awesome too, but this is only in my memories. It's been a while, so I guess it'll all be a bit less amazing then i remember it to be. Still, the rail gun was the b o m b.
This is all about mp btw, single player wasn't all that great.

Ugh. While I loved the GeoModding from the first two Red Factions, loved creating tunnels with rocket launchers, I think going third person for the third installment is a mistake.

doesnt look anything amazing visually to me personally, but i enjoyed the first game a lot (reminded me a LOT of half life) second game's restricted geo-mod was both less impressive or interesting but did alow for more puzzle based uses. sadly it made the game feel painfully linear.

tech wise i expect to be able to blow holes in practically everything in this game...if that doesnt end up being the case then its just a wasted opertunity imo. i dont like the idea of a third person view, and i dont like this environment being shown. far to baron. its easy to tout ultimate destructability when a typical scene consists of a few crates scattered about a flat plain...lol

Looks fine. Motion blur, bloom, field of view, etc. Not bad for a game with so much destruction.

So Volition is working on this AND Saints Row 2? I really hope they have the manpower for both since they struggled with SR1 as a single project.

But as they told one poignant commenter on their official forums "go write your own streaming engine." Yes, and then you'll fix yours?

Here is quote from CVG preview:

"For a start it's in THIRD PERSON, a switch the developer says is crucial to both hopping into a new free-roaming sandbox set-up, and a world where you can be killed by a factory chimney falling from 100ft away. "

Anyhoo, the game looks nice enough...hope we get to see some gameplay footage soon..
