This looks pretty amazing to me, all at 60fps and assuming with no screen tearing.

Nobody said the "anime" character designed looks worse than in game. Not one person. I, however, did say that the concept art is essentially the same as the render except for the anime head...which doesn't seem overly inspired either.
you seriously can't see a difference? might i suggest a cornea transplant?
I keed i keed!

by ingame i was referring to the 3d model, but i doubt it will truly be THAT bland in-game.

I'm not sure what point you are addressing. I really haven't been a fan of the whole DOA art style at all. Ryu is clothed enough that he doesn't seem distinctly DOA.

And I had really friggin hoped that NG2 would have sported more detail and atmosphere and would have been completely mind-blowing visually. It's not what I was hoping for from what I've seen, but it'd be ridiculous to say this game looks bad. Like I said, it still looks great to me.

I thought the graphics were pretty weak after seeing that damn canal level over and over again. After seeing that Temple of Sacrifice video though, my tune has definitely changed. There are aspects that are a tad flat, but the speed and effects and things you won't notice until playing it on a nice hd screen will probably shine through.
True, when seeing that video I was actually (relatively) impressed with NG2's visuals for the first time. But even that video just can't excite me as much as I'd want to, or as several other games have done this gen.

Some videos (like the Temple one) look solid for sure, others (like the Canal) look mediocre at best. Sad but true.

Visuals aren't everything, but it is a major part of the experience. And I'm not talking about a few polygons here and there, or some low-res textures here and there. It's post-processing effects like motion blur/depth of field, particle effects, lighting/shadowing etc that makes a game truly stand out.

Hell, COD4's swarming with low-res/muddy textures. But it still manages to be the best looking game so far by a fair margin as well.

Well, like I said, what is so different?

And external factors like lighting don't count.

Oh for sure. The aforementioned "atmosphere" I was hoping the game would be teeming in would have been a result of those effects.

look again, her outfit doesn't even look the same, its like they cut most of it, especially her gloves, out because they needed to keep the poly count at quota to render her knockers.

I still see the gloves...and the rest of the outfit looks pretty darn close. Biggest difference I see is that the render's top isn't unzipped as much.

I don't know I think it looks superb graphically and when you think all the action and challenges wow what a game this will be. I can see this being the best game on 360... just like how NG was the best Xbox game. Yep I sure need to play it first before saying it's the best 360 game... good thing is that the demo is coming next month :)

Heheh I am 99.99% sure it's going to be the best too but you can't review it before playing it :p

What's the hate for ghost fishes? One of the easiest monsters in the game and those will make killing Doku really easy :)

I like the face and haircut of the concept art better than the 3D model.
Other than that it’s quite the same to me…

Looking forward to this game.

Change the contrast a bit, and you might get a feel as to how it'll look in front of you on an HDTV.

ninja gaiden has always had characters like this if you remeber Rachel. Its perfect for it but I have not played the second game 2 really see how she fits with the vibe of this one. Maybe you have?

Just frustrating when you open a chest and are swarmed by them.

Easy or not, they aren't fun to fight.

Sonia is ok, nothing more. Who cares anyway? She's just important for the story and will only appear in some cut-scenes.

The game looks awesome *-*

i really dont see anything special about this game. its going to be a great fan-service game, but in terms of bringing in new people i just dont think it will, as with the dead or alive games after the 2nd, they all ended up looking and playing pretty much the same. and NG2 looks really uninspired to me. bland even. fans'll love it tho and i guess thats all that matters.

This one will have maketing behind it, so it should sell quite a bit better than NG1 (not too mention it is the 360's game of the first half of the year).

Sonia´s concept art is great, awesome to me but the render is not that great. The way sketch/concept art (by hand)--------------- Render is not a succes, but well, the game will be awesome. No doubt about it. Can´t wait. Ninja Gaiden(first Xbox) is one of last generation best games by far to me.
