Xbox 360 PS3

Eidos and Crystal Dynamics release a few things concerning Tomb Raider: Underworld: a gallery of the new Lara 8.0 characted model as well as a comparison with the Legend version, two nice artworks to print and stick the english adventuress all over your walls, and nothing less than the new logo of the game, finally scrapping out the horrible visuals we had to bear since the first movie. What a fascinating news.

I think it looks a lot better now. The second artwork looks a bit wonky though...is it just me or does her head look like it's just slightly bigger than it should be?

Pfff they are gonna try it again.. a new tombraider game? I dont see the point in this.. I loved Tombraider on the Sega Saturn and Psone but soon I grew tired of repeating the same thing again and again and again.

Also to my knowlidge the last "next gen" (if you would like to call it that) wasnt that great, I remember downloading that demo.. but never finishing it.

Eidos let this series die already, put some effort in a new IP or something, cauze I for one aint buying.

They are catering to guys who objectify women and stare at them in magazines, often giving them demeaning titles such as bird, broad and chick... oh, but... wait... did you just say... chick?
Nice one.

U want her to wear a raincoat while climbing a mountain? I'd be more realistic if she wore a full on leather catsuit, but that would be even more of a horny fan service. :P
Considering that a rainforest is full of mostly small creatures you not want to be touched by e.g. leech, poisonous caterpillar, ticks, mosquitoes, poisonous spiders etc., wearing almost nothing I believe is not the best choice unless you are some kind of freak or tourist which is almost the same.
I’m not expecting her to run around with an oilskin from a German U-Boat out of the Second World War but there are some useful cloths out there which are water-repellent yet breathable and at the same time convenient to wear and have way more bags.
These trousers in the first shot are good example, if you look close at it you see that they are strengthened at her knees, now that would be a logic choice for me.

Yeah, yeah looks more detailed...(whatever) I'm only interested in this since Deus Ex 3 will use the same engine...

Oh come on, originally Lara Croft was a comic-like character, a superheroin, sexy, deadly and acrobatic, pilling tombs and killing every man who stood before her... Let's not forget it :)

I'm glad theyr'e reviving the series. I liked Tomb Raider Legends and thought it was really fresh, I need to get tomb raider anniversary edition but the games look like they're shaping into a nice sleeper comeback.

Oh, I almost forgot to add. Love the profile pic you chose for the game, Gamersyde. Don't know if it was intentional or not, but it's pretty much exactly like the classic "I'm an attention whore!" macro.

LMAO! I wonder if that's just a coincidence or a little joke from Eidos?

I don't like how they seem to have made her breasts bigger again. They made them far more realistic for Legend, but she seems to have gone back to the silicones here.
Fans have complained about breast shrinkage since her PS1 days. Don't ask why.

Anyhow, I don't know if they abandoned her age or not, but there has to be some sort of timeline and age factor going on, with the flashbacks and whatnot during TR: Legend and the amount of adventures in TR: Chronicles. Plus, I just keep going back to the fact that you can see it in her face. For example her eyes in these pics, they're a bit worn out like she's experienced way too much through adventuring. This is something I noticed in MGS 2 and 4 with solid snake. He looked a bit more like he's experienced his fair share of stealth missions. It's kind of hard to explain, but you can see it in their faces and eyes and I appreciate the fact that developers go through the time to add small details like that.

Can't wait for this one. I prefer the style of Lara's model in legend tho, her face on this one is quite different.

Seconded. She looks like she's went through a harsh steroids program
Brutal. The last thing I'd think when looking at this model is steroids. I'd say she's closer to being under-muscled considering the feats she pulls off.

I suppose you thought Jessica Biel looked like she went through a harsh steroid program for Blade Trinity?

And yet irl we have fat brazilian tourist guides walking around deep in the rainforest showing old ruins in nothing but a hawaian shirt and a pair of shorts. Even tough the danger of snakes and diseases are very much real.
Why is it taboo as soon as a hot woman does it? Geez..

steroid treatment? Lemme see, she's agile, can support her full weight on one arm, is incredibly acrobatic, but she can't have muscle definition or she's labeled as a roid freak. Bah, what can you do?

Less than hot. Significantly less than hot, but since her art's all there is to show in this update, that's all we can really talk about.

Tombraider was a great game for it's time. But now it is getting really old. It's always the same. Solve a puzzle, shoot some foes, solve a puzzle, shoot some foes. I have read some articles about underworld and the one thing the developers are most proud of, is that you can see sweat on Lara. Oh my god, if that is your sales pitch, ....
There aren't really that many other games that do what tomb raider does. Only two I can think of, and that's Uncharted and Prince of Persia. That's about it.

True, but given the nature of the update, what else is there to speak about?

Man, those are some nice stone ruins in the background.
