Microsoft has released tons of images and videos from Ninja Gaiden 2 today, revealing different staffs and maps from the game in horribly compressed videos.
Update: Information and image of upcoming DLC added
Microsoft has through the XCN announced that a costume will be available for 39 000 gamers. Press release:
Inspired by the Hayabusa family’s namesake, the falcon, this demonic costume mirrors the intensity of Ryu’s vengeance and fury as he fights to regain the honor of his clan. It’s almost as if he’s been transformed into a Fiend by the evil powers of the underworld with this costume – but retains all the honor of the Hayabusa Ninja Clan."
Starting July 2008, Xbox Live members worldwide will be able to download 3 unique Hayabusa costume packs for 200 MS points each to use in Ninja Gaiden II. Each costume pack is a completely new and never before seen look for our Ninja hero, Ryu Hayabusa.
The first of the 3 costume pack designs is being revealed today. This will be exclusively available in selected countries to 39,000 gamers on launch day as part of pre-sale or launch promotions with specific retail partners. Look for more details on other two designs and specific country promotions to be revealed in the coming weeks. Go to xbox.com/ng2 or your favorite retailer to pre-order Ninja Gaiden II today!

Commented on 2008-05-09 03:06:11 In reply to FarooqUnique titles like LBP and MotorStorm are way more captivating than already stellar FPS titles like KZ2 and Resistance 2, that add up to a great mix, especially with upcoming MGS4, Siren and Gran Turismo 5...
As for the graphics whores what do you expect? do you really think you can get something that looks like Gears running at 60fps - not this generation son. You wanna see a poor looking game then go check out Haze exclusive to PS3 and available around about the same time. I mean come on 530p is a bloody joke but remember the Sony press conferences at E3s - PS3 is so powerful it can pump games that are 1080p at 120fps well they obviously fooled you.
Sony gamers day was no different to last years E3 except they actually started admitting they had problems but wait how long did you say we have to wait to play Killzone. Anyways remember to get your arse back here Friday night so you can see some more stuff after which your mind will be blown some more, yeah thats right Gears 2 and that 159.99 will soon be in the hands of your favorite games retailer.

Commented on 2008-05-09 06:31:02There are aspects in some screens that don't quite look stellar, but every preview I've read has had NOTHING but good things to say about the graphics. And besides, it's fucking Ninja Gaiden. This is one case where I have no trouble painting the negative people with one, giant, sloppy "retard" brush.

NG was fucking smart, fucking hard and fucking amazing, so I have no reason to doubt that this one be more of the same (with a ton and a half of cherries on top). The screens look awesome, character design as bizarre as ever, nothing to fear here!
:o)

Me is thinking, that Team Ninja's gfx-engines are outdated.
Textures etc are looking just flat. There aren't any common effects (motion blur, blablabla..), that would make the game look so much better.
Commented on 2008-05-09 13:54:09Infact, Burnout is the only one that does look better and it's hardly a major difference. Oblivion did look better on the PS3, but only because of Shivering Isles, if you download it on the 360 then it has all of the same added effects. And despite what IGN may have you believe, the 360 version of GTA IV is easily superior in most ways. And perhaps you missed the fact that the PS3 version was just recently patched for.. barley working?

As for your sales claims, I don't care to comment on this crap, but perhaps you should check your sources. Your facts and figures are way off. Despite the fact the PS3 has been outselling the the 360 in most territories for the past few months, the total sales of the 360 are still almost double that of the PS3.
More on topic.. I don't get why so many people are complaining about the graphics. These aren't exactly the best shots ever, but the game still looks pretty darn good. My only problem with the series has been with the enemy design. It's fine when you're fighting other ninja's and the generally human like enemies, but the monsters and demons look very poor. I'm also disappointed to hear that almost none of the original games flaws have been corrected, we still have clunky control and an awkward camera.

Commented on 2008-05-09 16:52:37but the funny thing is that the game is so fast that it actualy doesnt even matter.
when i was playing ninja gaiden 1 I was more focusing on the what is happening on the screen ,then looking at it like a painting.
Commented on 2008-05-10 03:34:10Avi files in CASTLE , VENICE probably others has BAD ASPECT RATIO encoded:
64:9
so they display as long thin strips
They are reported as
640 x 360 (AR 64:9)
some players that *ignore* aspect ratio coded into file may display properly but most for example MPC + XVID will not
Brooklyn.avi is OK
You can use MPEG4Modifier to set square pixels, fix them and display files properly for a quick fix.
