Xbox 360

Microsoft and Team Ninja released nothing less than seven new videos of Ninja Gaiden 2, each unveiling one character of the game, along with one or two artworks each. Looks like there will be quite a few boss to slaughter, and the horrible american dubbing will certainly be a good enough motivation to be fast about it.

I hope we can put the voices to japanese like in the first game. Not that there's anything wrong with the voice acting, I just like the authenticity.

Looks amazing as usual, I can't wait to get my hands on this one.

By the way, it's English dubbing not American, "American" is not a language and the voice acting wasn't that bad at all. Hell, compared to most Japanese games/Anime the voice acting is damned good and doesn't seem to suffer from the usual translation issues heard in most games.
i think he means the voices were Americanized, as in dubbed BY Americans, not dubbed INTO american. British people also speak English, but its different from American english. anyways, hopefully they'll include the Japanese voices as an option, cause Ryus english voice actor really sucks at the part. He sounds like someone from a teenage American highschool drama movie.

It's kinda funny how unfitting non-japanese voices are in japanese games.

Team Ninja's art style is sooo far east, that one wouldn't expect anything else than: "Konichiwa-San, Sayonara."

Lightning, I would say, is still a bit out of order...

This does continue the recent trend of having lips synced to the english voices though, and I have to say that even if the acting is sub par, that gives me a better overall impression than switching back to japanese voices that DON'T fit the new sync.

I also have to say that I think this game is a huge step up in terms of character design and locales. The first was downright awful in that aspect and Ninja Gaiden: Dragon Sword made it look rediculously un-cool compared. I'm glad DS' design rubbed off on this. I've always felt that DMC has way more tasteful *stuff* in it but is ultimately the slightly flimsier game. With this, I reckon NG is chomping much closer to Dante's bum design wise.

Perhaps his name is Joe in reference to Shinobi, where the main character was named Joe Musashi?

Im sure Gamersyde knows the difference between english and american. But seeing at it is americans who made the dub it is indeed an american dub, english language or not. That's how I understood BlimBlim's opening text. And having watched the movies the dub didnt do well. Why would anybody choose average voiceacting like this over exposure to the language it was meant to be?

I am looking forward to this game but not as much as I did Team Ninja's original xbox games. I shall wait a bit longer and see what else they have got for this game.

Joe Hayabusa. As in american Joe?! Fuck... Look, I am not against grabbing names from other countries. It's done all over the world and I can name Jackie chan and Tupac Shakur. This naming happens in Japan as well so why do I have this problem with Joe Hayabusa? Because here you got a ninja village steeped in tradition and they live in isolation, I mean I dont recall seeing any cars or jeans or automatic rifles. If it really is true that they choose isolation(for what ever reasons) why the hell did somebody go "Hey, I just had a baby boy! I think I'll call him... Joe!" The foreigners he is named after bombed two cities and stole cultural treasures in the form of katanas. So why that name?

Joe Hayabusa indeed...

End of rant. Has more info regarding the limited costumes appeared? Is the DLC limited even if you preorder?

Game looks amazing, seems they really stepped up the story which is great. Only thing I didnt like were the voices, everyone sounded the same, Ryu sounded so young and not badass enough, artwork looks so much better than the final designs, seems alot of detail was removed, like Zedonius's hair running down the sides of his face. And yeh naming a ninja Joe is pretty lame. Ninjo would of been better lol

Is there going to be the option of Japanese voice-overs with English subtitles?

I like the voice talent they use for DOA, so why screw it up with Ninja Turtles and Powers Rangers? Ugh!

Considering the epic difficulty Ninja Gaiden is known for I'd hardly consider it a "royal ass whippin" when the fight actually happens.

Well, Shinobi "Joe" was originally "Sho", but all of that was sorted in the days of... you know.. westerners would think japanese things were too damn weird and throw the game across the room on reflex if the cover wasn't redrawn to illustrate He-Man in a ninja getup.

The same is.. most likely not true here which makes the whole thing.. a little bit odd. Unless of course there's a reference to this character already in the first Ninja Gaiden games 20ish years ago.

i like the voices

as for the story, i can see this being you typical revenge game like the first. the dialog in NJ is good despite overall poor stoytelling

one thing i'am gonna miss is the CGI cut scenes, Team ninja should have included them, they was something good about them.
