Last week was held the Xbox 360 Showcase in San Francisco, and we've had the great opportunity to spend some quality time with the bests game designers of the Microsoft pool. Last friday we started with Shane Kim, Corporate Vice President of Microsoft Games Studio. Today we go on with the creator of the Dead or Alive and Ninja Gaiden series, head of Team Ninja and Katana enthusiast, the uncompromising Tomonobu Itagaki and his Ninja Gaiden 2.

Oh... but a WWII Two-Sides of the Story ACTION game... oh, you'll care!

I don't like the WW1 or WW2 type games...unless there is a twist to it, kind of like Resistance or something.
Like sci-fi/fantasy twist or something, but other than that...no thank you.

i don't understand why people hate this, he speaks his mind, critisizes his games if they deserve it. his records as game designer speaks for its self. so why are people anrgy at this man when he speaks

It sure does.

But then again, Ninja Gaiden is pretty good.

is that sarcasm? his record proves he is an excellent game producer, all of the DOA games and Ninja gaiden have gotten positive reviews. (DOAX maybe an exception) perhaps your opinion is that his games suck, but not everyone can agree, i think more people than not would agree that he makes excellent games.

I'm a bit of a DOA fan--but honestly--it sorta sucks compared to the best of Namco and SEGA. And here's a man that has no problem bashing their best. Which is why people don't like his attitude. His an industry troll.

He's overrates himself. Ninja Gaiden was great, but it's the only great game he's ever produced. DOA is fluff, and regarding DOA4 as, "The definitive 3D fighter," just shows how arrogant the man is. I own every DOA game on multiple platforms, and I enjoy them quite a bit.. but they are not great games.

He's not one this industries legends, and he probably never will be. Producing one great franchise doesn't give you that status.

well IMO DOA4 IS the greatest fighter ever made, i even gave VF5 a really good shot and felt like DOA4 was even better after playing VF5...

the point im trying to make is that how you feel is your opinion, ofcourse itagaki thinks his games are the best, he made them, but i think its unfair to say that he has a bad character just because he speaks his mind, and you dont agree.

If you feel he and his games are overrated well thats your opinion, i dont agree and you dont agree with me, but thast why its an opinion. i beleive most people would agree his games are excellent like i said before.

i wont say anything further, i cant change your opinion, and to try to do so would be incredibly stupid, i wouldnt try to unless i truly fealt you were being irrational somehow, but your not, u have a your opinion, and thats all there is to it :)

I always loved team ninja games. The one thing that I think has always elevated doa above other fighters was its counter system and multi-tiered levels, these things I think brought an amount of strategy you usually might not have. Though I am kinda on the fence with which is better SC4 or DOA4 because I have always loved the way it played and in all previous interviews Itagaki has always given a certain respect to that series it seemed. But it is just my opinion that DOA4, SC2, and Street Fighter 3 are my fave fighting games.(I love parrying)
