PC Xbox 360 PS3

Eidos and Crystal Dynamics just released a new screenshot of Tomb Raider: Underworld. Here's a glimpse of an underwater temple level, which Lara will discover after a long diving sequence in the deep blue.

Good initial bullshot to start things off
Hm...I'm not so sure about that. Uncharted was able to pull of beautiful environments like the one pictured in this topic.

Edit:

anyone who played Tomb Raider legend wouldnt have a hard believing this is real time. the screen might have touched up a little but I still think it's a veryu good indication of the graphical quality of the game.
Let me add that neither Tomb Raider Legend nor Anniversary were developed for the 360 first. They're quoting this game as their true "next gen lara croft game". That's probably also why this will not receive a PS2, PSP, or Wii release.

That looks totally real time...the octopus looks ace.

I loved legend, lets hope this one gives us more of the same...the driving was a nice distraction, but I hope there isnt so much of it in this game.

Legend and Anniversary are both fantastic games (Anniversary is more fantastic). I'm really looking forward to this one.

I agree.. but only in the sense that neither the XBOX360 or PS3 version will look like that... it's gonna take the "next gen" to look at good.

(BTW, the 360 and PS3 are now currect gen.)
I think next gen will look better than that. TBH, it looks good but not even close to good enough to be next gen. PCs can already push that easily level of graphics easily.

Yeah, Anniversary was awesome, mainly due to clever level design. Lets just hope this one will continue that formula. Legend was cool, but even though I've enjoyed it, there were some tings I hated (Kazachstan level, easy platforming and puzzles, shitty shooting - not like this aspect changed much in TR:A ;p).
Oh, and I think that NEW Lara model looks more old and angry :)

Absolutely! except Crystal Dynamics is indeed porting this to PS2 and Wii apparently but they did mention that the focus is on current gen consoles.

Indeed. Eidos has done the right decision giving the franchise to crystal d. core would have ruined it for good. THANK GOD! despite great action adventures games released recently like the prince of persia trilogy and drake's forutune, God of war etc ... tomb raider still holds a very special part in my heart and no game could fill that void.

PS: enough with they reduced her boobs/thighs ... is this the reason you playe tomb raider ? honestly ?

XBox720
I guess it will rather be called XBox1080, because 720 implies 720p.
Microsoft gave the 360 to the Xbox because they thought calling it 2 would mean for not so much knowledgably users that the PS3 is one generation ahead. With 360 they have their 3 in the name without calling it the third console.
That’s why I believe they will use 1080 because they (MS) might come up thinking using 720 would imply the console is not able to deliver true HD.
But then again it could also be called “Eierlegendewollmilchsau”… who knows?

It was 360, because it pretty much fits in with the PS3 and Revolution, which was the code name for the Wii, for those of you who don't remember. But, I don't see them sticking with that naming scheme for their next console, I imagine they'll come up with something totally different.

Not sure if you were being serious there :P But they confirmed this is a totally new engine, and not just the same one used for Legend/Anniversary.

Given how detailed the textures are in the old screens, it' not too hard to believe this new shot might be real time with a few color and lighting changes.

Yeah, to me, if you look closely (especially at the chains) it looks like a slightly improved engine from the last game. I don't know what big changes you guys see.
