looks sharp. Nice colors and detailed textures. However, i wonder why SO4 looks so much better. I Get the sense that project is getting a whole lot more attention than this one. Still looking forward to it tho.
Bigger budget for a higher profile game, and a game that is their 2nd not first project on the console?

Seems like your the one trying to accomplish that, and lets not believe everything we read heh ?

When we see some "ACTUAL" in game footage of FF13 then perhaps we can believe the hype.

Personally I would rather FF13 stick to the tried and tested gameplay of FF10 than screw up a franchise because they want to try something different, FF12 was a pile of crap because they tried something new IMO and i was hoping FF13 would be more like FF10 seeing as it is lead by the same guy.

I think this look pretty nice personally, its not omg amazing visually but who cares JRPGs are about battle systems and story telling not about graphics.
That's all a matter of opinion. FF12 sold more than FF10 so there must be a few million out there who didn't mind the new system.

What bothers me is that western gamers are slowly starting to reject turn based games. What also bothers me is that rpg addicts reject non turn based rpgs(i.e. anything new).

Alot of people bought FF12 before they even realized ..hey, this is very different from the final fantasy i know and love. FF12 is one case where i personally feel the direction the series took was not a good one,,i uderstand that changing the formula a bit is the thing that must be done to keep things fresh, but FF12 was simply WAY too different from FFX (the last single player game)..they could have made smaller changes to the system, making it a bit faster, FFX-2 felt like the right way to go for the future, it was fast and frenetic but still felt like what FF should be except with 3 person party and no summons, but the system was there..but once i played FF12 i was flabergasted..i felt like i skipped on 3 or 4 games..because it was just so damn different, and it just felt alien...

not alot has been said about XIII's sytem, but from what i can gather from the trailer is a very cinematic..more flash that depth..but i cant make my mind up yet obvioulsy, i have to wait and see.

The fact that they made you feel that way is a good thing. Changing things up a bit is always good to do. And FFXII's system worked well. I know you guys like FFX-2's system, but it was pretty much FF7's active time battle system with 'in battle' class changes.

When you have a broken system, yhea I guess.
But, No when you have something that works fine & people are familiar to change and put something that shits on that and people hate.
Then no, change isn't always better... teaking a winning formula, FTW!

Ugh, FFXII and FFX-2 are the 2 primary reasons Im no longer a FF fan. Having bought and beat both, I can honestly say I wasted my money and time on them and am very skeptical of all future FF projects because of it. Thier just was nothing good about either of those games, period.

As for IU, I still think it looks great and hopefully it plays great, although im a bit worried it might have that same horrid mmo feel that FFXII had. If so, ill be really disappointed.

Some shots really make me remember Kotor.
I hope it's a system resembling that one.

IU is a "play it safe" game. Nothing new, nothing interesting.
So where's your list of JRPGs you've played that have been seamless in 3-D from battle to overworld, as well as games that have situational battles where you chose from multiple outcomes to accomplish your objectives?
