Microsoft released a whole new bunch of Gears of War 2 images and artworks. The first part is up, with more coming when I'm done downloading them. Update 2: Everything's up.

It is definitely jealousy. Otherwise why would people come on here and starting talking about PS3 exclusive games that bear almost no relevance to Gears 2? Like I said, it's a clear measure of how darn good this game is going to be. ;)
To say it looks like Gears 1 isn't wrong; it's a stupidly obvious comment to make. Of course it looks like Gears 1 - it is the sequel to it, remember? Although it looks like Gears 1, it still looks better than Gears 1. The implementation of ambient occlusion is a huge addition, for anyone who actually knows what that is.
The fact that IGN, who have actually seen the game live and in motion, said that it is a big step up from Gears 1 graphically ... well, it tells you everything you need to know. ;)
The best thing that Cliffy B has said so far is the fact that there is more to come. I'd be ecstatic with all the features that are going to be in the game already, but the fact that even more is yet to be announced just makes it extra special.
I know for a fact that this will be my GOTY, no question. And, given all the great games that have come out this year, that is quite a feat.
Weird, I've had a look at the old solo gameplay and Im'n not THAT sure those screens are heavily doctored (but for AA). The solo looks insanely good, and the gap between bullshots and gameplay might not be as wide as in GoW.
Still, when I look at those gridlock screens, I get the feeling they have traded details close to the player with details ont he background. the buildings on the other side of the map do not look as detailed in GoW2, due to the level of blur...
