Urban Extreme announced

Urban Extreme announced

The Nintendo Wii console will welcome Urban Extreme: Street Rage thanks to Data Design Interactive. It is an extreme racing game where the drivers can destroy opponents cars. Knowing that, traditionnal driving rules are not respected, which is even more true in the Carnage mode (kinda similar to Roadrage in Burnout going by the text) which should satisfy players in need for a crash. No release date has been given with the press release.

The title makes it sound like shovelware.

Yeah, hopefully good stuff at E3. Like QUALITY stuff. I think companies already realize that they don't need a quality game on the Wii. The millions of soccer moms who bought a Wii for their kids aren't going to pick up two games, look at them, and ask, "Which one got better gaming reviews?"

It's more like, whichever one is out the door first, doesn't totally suck, and has a flashier box art wins.

I think it's a matter of taste. I have exactly 4 games for each of the three consoles, so I'm gonna say they're all equally good. They all have plenty of crappy games on them too. The main difference is that the Wii ones LOOK crappier because it's a weaker console.

No, actually, people don't... :o/ If you only have two games for it, that just goes to show what a sucker you are for buying hardware without consideration of the content.

What's up?
  • Baleur
Baleur Why are you discussing reviews anyway? When have reviews ever mattered? They are just individual people writing about their individual opinions. Might as well read reviews on music too then, lol XD (2 Hours ago)

GriftGFX pfft text! we only care for numbers (2 Hours ago)
  • blmbox
blmbox Yeah, but judging by the content of both reviews, Eurogamer didn't particularly care much for the game anyway. They probably only gave it an 8 to avoid controversy - the review sounded more like a 6. (6 Hours ago)
  • GriftGFX
GriftGFX 6 to 8 split on Eurogamer, which isn't quite as large but still pretty significant. (8 Hours ago)
  • SimonM7
SimonM7 Yeah sure, but from what console reviews are saying it's perfectly adequate. I mean I'm sure PC is the way to go, but I sincerely doubt we're seeing a 5 to 9 split score wise or anything. (8 Hours ago)
  • GriftGFX
GriftGFX not that the Xbox version is "that bad" by most accounts either.. there are plenty of people here playing it who adore it.. but the PC game is recieving higher marks across the board (8 Hours ago)
  • GriftGFX
GriftGFX @SimonM7: I doubt that's true too, if other reviews I've read are any indication. The game was designed around an interface that's not represented on the Xbox.. (8 Hours ago)
