Page 1 2 >>Eeesh, i forgot just how bad Halo 3's graphics were. Didn't they make this pack free after a while? I was considering grabbing it but COD4 came along :D

And wow, they look brilliant. I can't wait to grab 'em when they become free. It'll be interesting to see how they play.
edit: I'm interested to hear from people who've already played them, what are the pros 'n cons of the maps.
The lighting engine in Halo 3 is utterly phenomenal, they went the whole (wart)hog with it and unfortunately it doesn't get appreciated anywhere near enough. If anything I think Bungie went too far with the technical side of this game, a lot of developers seem to get praise for their clever "faking" or corner cutting.
Certainly better than what we've seen so far from Killzone and Resistance.
What I can't wait for is the Gears 2 video replay feature. Those screenshots will be so detailed, they will smoke anything. Best of all? video and image proof of it for all the internet to see.
You also wont find another console FPS with higher resolution textures than those found in Halo 3.
And yet the game uses crap filtering which destroys most of the texture quality.
And yet even after being destroyed by "crap" filtering, they still look better than any other console FPS out there by quite a margin.
But that was the exchange for a very technically impressive game..4 player co-op, and constantly recording each and every players move throughout.
graphically a let down, the game itself though was probably the strongest Halo...the AI being up there with the very best in a game. I really hope the Peter Jackson game comes to light soon..and maybe Halo's story can get a narrative it deserves..as Bungie simply cant pull off story structure well enough.

thats laughable when you compare it to the texture quality of cod4.
