Got to disagree with your preview statment, as i understand it previews are mostly always positive, hell even Haze got positive previews and we all no what happened there, and if you read the latest 1up preview of kz2 they are quite negative on the gameplay aspect, but i'm still lokking forward to this game so i hope it all turns out well.
1UP is always negative. Even in reviews for games they score well. Go look at the Assassin's Creed review, they gave it an 8 and majority of the paragraph is negative. Also, bringing up a bad game that had nice previews but scored horribly is idiotic. Consider all previews for games generally positive and are hinging on the hopes that the developers will come through on a great game. Not to mention if the same positives weren't mention then the comparison is invalid.

Go read the 1up preview then come back and talk sense.

As i stated most previews are positive, so the fact that 1ups was quite negative has me worried, i'm looking forward to kz2 but my only worries are gameplay and thats whats the 1up preview was negative on from what they have played so far.

The graphics look good, it's just a shame this is one of the most boring screenshots ever "released" to the general public

1UP is ALWAYS negative though, also I find it highly illogical to take one negative preview when there are dozens of positive ones. It's not even like 1Up is the premiere magazine with an amazing staff. It's subpar.

The best analogy I can give about how I feel this game will pan out, is how I would describe these sour sweets you can get down at my local shop.

Sure they look good, but once you eat them you realise that you just wasted money on something that quite frankly didn't taste as great as it looked.

Ok, it looks great, but they haven't surpassed the trailer, they haven't even matched it.
You clearly haven't seen the comparison video then =)

Also whoever mentioned destructable terrain in BF:BC, Killzone 2 also has destructable terrain. You can see in some of the gameplay videos that when taking cover behind pillars etc they can be shot apart leaving you exposed.

I'm pretty impressed with Killzone 2 especially visually. Gametrailers posted a comparison video a while back of the E3 trailer next to actual Killzone 2 footage, and aside from the animations looking a little worse than the E3 trailer it was pretty obvious that graphicly and technicly they have surpassed it.

Guerrilla made it very hard for themselves. Everybody remembers the first footage showed (I think it was the E3 2005 footage) that was intended to promote the PS3 as an incredible console. First they said it was completely in-game footage, later on they had to admit that it was CGI. So everybody is expecting a game that looks like the CGI-movie. The graphics are still pretty good for current-gen. But they overhyped the game, making people dissappointed about what they get to see now. It will probably be a good game no doubt, but like BB King sings 'the thrill is gone'.
i agree with you 100%

There's no doubt that after seeing the game in motion - just completely ignore this screenshot - the game will be a treat for the eyes.

Unfortunately, I think that's all it'll be. The AI looked awful in the video footage we've seen, and overall the gameplay looked incredibly boring. Looks like this will be pretty to look at, rubbish to play.
It's quite funny to be honest.

I remember Uncharted receiving the same comments by many.

"AI LOOKS AWFUL.... LOOKS TOO EASY... etc"

To now say Uncharted has poor AI is almost oxymoronic!

It's a funny thing to be honest. This game will be released in EIGHT MONTHS TIME. That is plenty of time to touch up the game.

They've recently hired a very good AI programmer too.

Screenshot isn't wow making (some games looks worse on a screen that in motion, like KZ2), but game after seeing gameplay will be good/great (if they improve AI). And it looks like the trailer from the past.

BTW. Uncharted has the best shadows so far.

WOW do you not READ what people post!!

I'm am looking forward to this game as its one of the few titles of the ps3 that i am going to get, i did not say i'm disregarding anything so stop putting words in my mouth.

And i'll say again most all preview reports are positive, so when a site like 1UP who have heaped praise on the visuals, play a demo and gives a negative preview on the gameplay it makes me worry, but theres plenty of dev time left, so heres to hoping it improves.

Hardly, I'm disregarding your worries based on the premise of your horrible Haze example and that fact that you put stock in a publication that is overtly negative even when giving game good/great scores.

The game looks great visually. Control wise it looks solid. Gameplay in general brings nothing new or exciting to the table, but it doesn't always have to be that way as long as the gameplay is tight as hell (COD4 per example).

That said, I really don't see anything in this game to pull me away from COD4. I doubt they'll be able to surpass COD4 in terms of controls/feel and visually, I'm not even sure it looks better. We'll see though, maybe the online beta will convince me otherwise.

CoD4's solo was kind of boring IMO ! I came close to not finishing it, I hate those rollercoaster scripted games. Sure they look good but then, what's the point if the game ends up being frustrating and boring.
If KZ2 MP is as good as CoD4, then it's gonna be one hell of a game, though. Besides, this screenshot looks quite good.

Yeah, I was mainly referring to the MP aspect indeed. COD4 SP is shit imo. The constant respawning enemies (seriously...wtf!) got to me.

At some point you had to camp and snipe at a spot (the environment from the MP map Bloc) and the enemies just kept coming and coming! I stopped there from pure boredom. I hate camping and sniping.

About Gamersyde

Gamersyde is a commercial multiplatform web portal based in Europe, with hundreds of thousands of visitors each month from all over the world. We cover both handheld and video games platforms and the site has grown into one of the biggest gaming sites in the continent. We are able to offer fast news delivery and HD content from the upcoming games, and one of the greatest and friendliest gaming communities in the world. The HD content we provide always respects the original resolution and framerate of the games we capture, making Gamersyde the one and only place to get 1080p/4K/60fps videos with high bitrate. At a time when Youtube's subpar video compression has become the norm for most people on the Internet, we refuse to give up quality without a fight. We now also produce HDR videos, which can only be enjoyed by those who own compatible televisions. The content we produce is obviously not free of use should you want to upload our videos on your own website or YouTube channel.
