Lionhead releases eight screenshots of Fable 2, just like that. And it looks awesome. The game is still planned to be released on Xbox 360 at the end of the year.

I dont know, seems like something is turned off graphically in those screens. Something is missing. Artistically, very beautiful & colorful.

what is going on in the 5th pic? looks like the guys showing him his pen0r...lol

looks good tho. clearly not doctored in anyway since there are jaggies everywhere. anyone know if you start as a child and age to an adult seemlessly? or is it like the first where you have a short period as a child, then it skips a few years to a teen then again to an adult?

seemless aging would be awesome. and more like what i expected from the first game.
I don't think they've said.. but at the very least, I imagine there's still a time skip from when you're a child to a teenager/young adult.

The third pic leading to the "evil" area looks amazing. I hope there is a way to turn off that STUPID glowing trail on the ground (PDZ ARROWS), or maybe they aren't always there. Either way,

How can they make such a great game, then ruin it by not having an option to turn off stupid trails on the ground? Some people want to PLAY a game and not be led around like a casual n00b. This greatly annoys me.

Environments, lighting and atmosphere are fantastic...the characters and their animations though are of the worst I've seen this gen.

Very hyped for this one, but in terms of polish and graphical/technical quality it disappoints.
Second that, but even the background lighting is surpassed these days imho.

Whats with the models, why western developers can't make good looking models? Anyway, looks pretty decent, at least backgrounds...
That's the art style. If everything where to look like Final Fantasy things would be so boring now wouldn't it

If it were FF, and made by Normua or whatever his name is every character will look the same. And yes, the males will look like females too.

Anyway, that aside, I just love the art style in this game. It screams Tim Burton. :D

looking nice, very Disney. I really hope it turns out to be the deep gaming experience that they inspire it to be...althoug Peter Molyneuxh could talk up Haze and make you think it was the greatest thing since... Halo.

I want to hear them confirm online co-op at E3

i just hope they keep the framerates up, and the aging system realistic. in the last fable i was like 70 and ive only been playing the game for 15 days, they should make 1 year equivalent to one full week of playtime imo. other than that its gonna be a great game you know it is cuz the last one was such a success even without all the things they promised were gonna be in it.

Well you can stop being annoyed, those aren't glow trails on the ground. When you kill something in Fable, they leave experience points on the ground in the form of the flashing orbs you're seeing in that screen.

Those orbs then come flowing towards you as you move in their direction and/or collect them. Which consequently can be a little hazardous if there are enemies still in the area.

absolute awsomeness! When I see this, i am really sad that i sold my 360 because it just broke down too often (3 RoD's and 4 times the harddisk just stopped working)...

Weeeeell I hope this hits the PC faster than the first Fable, otherwise I perhaps will help myself to another 360, perhaps an Elite this time XD

*edit* I loove the Art Style, it's something between Fable 1 and the Monkey Island Series (judged by the characters)

You mean like eastern devs do better models? With huge bewbs and eyes. I´d rather have western models in that case.

I really hope they've made this game free roam, because from what I see of the graphics, it really doesn't look that impressive to me. Nice visual style, but in some of the shots the models, textures, environments all look pretty rough. It paints a pretty nice picture overall, but don't let your eye stray from the center.

I don't understand why allmost everyone here thinks it looks fantastic. I think it could have been from the previous generation of consoles. I'm not judging the game itself, but the screenshots. Just look at the draw distance. From 20 meters on there is a mist filter in every screenshot (even indoors). Sorry, after playing true current-gen games with current-gen graphics, this looks outdated.

I must also say the screenshots don't look too impressive but after watching all the developer diaries, I can say it looks much better in motion and when you take into account all the stuff that goes on in this game, especially AI-wise, you can truely appreciate the game beyond the graphics.
I'd much rather have something like than rather than a pretty game like Heavenly Sword which was ultimately crap.

They've already said that they are in fact trails ala Perfect Dark.

I wouldn't quite say it's accurate to say this looks like a last-gen game. Sure, the screenshots might not show the game in the best light, but any footage I've seen has shown an impressively lush and vibrant world.

I'm super-stoked for this game. The first was great if you managed to just enjoy what was there instead of harp on what was missing.

They have claimed the world is free roaming, but this is somewhat vague. No ones quite sure if they mean a totally open world, like in Oblivion or GTA, or if the game is still seperated into the different areas, but those areas are totally explorable now, instead of being stuck on the path.

Personally, I think it's the latter, and I actually think that would work better for a game like Fable.

They've already said that it won't be like Oblivion or GTA, but rather, it'll be larger, more open areas like you mentioned.

I don't know, I still seem to see paths in these screenshots. There was still more exploration in Fable than many other console RPG's though. Maybe there's a mix of both, as in Fable.. open areas (such as towns) and areas with pre-defined paths as well.
