Xbox 360

Lionhead releases eight screenshots of Fable 2, just like that. And it looks awesome. The game is still planned to be released on Xbox 360 at the end of the year.

I actually quite digg the semi open nature of Fable1. If that provides more variety in the environments instead of one big, open, but repetitive environment (looking at you Oblivion!)...I'm in.

I liked the feeling of going on to an adventure, not knowing what kind of environment I'd find myself in next, with still having somewhat of a sense of freedom. I thought it was a great trade-off personally!

I don't know, I still seem to see paths in these screenshots. There was still more exploration in Fable than many other console RPG's though. Maybe there's a mix of both, as in Fable.. open areas (such as towns) and areas with pre-defined paths as well.
Well in the original, you were largely stuck on straight paths, but if you watch some of the video demonstrations, you can see him running straight through fields, jumping fences and everything. So even although it's not totally open ended, there still seems to be a decent amount of exploration, certainly a lot more than there was in the original.

Didn't they say Fable 2's world will be bigger then GTAIV's or something?

they said fable 2 is roughly 20 times the size of fable 1, i hope it is fully open world and not sections with load times between each area

Definitely looks good. This is one of the games that's saving the 360 from total ps3 domination. I like it when i see a bit of effort and thought behind a game.

Well you can stop being annoyed, those aren't glow trails on the ground. When you kill something in Fable, they leave experience points on the ground in the form of the flashing orbs you're seeing in that screen.

Those orbs then come flowing towards you as you move in their direction and/or collect them. Which consequently can be a little hazardous if there are enemies still in the area.
That's good, if true. But, you sure about that? I remember Peter saying he wanted to do away with a map by doing stuff like this and with the dog. It looks like a trail to me...

I'm pretty sure it's the "bread-crumb" trail he had mentioned earlier.

I heard this too, that the dog that will scout ahead or be the map for you. I can't imagine that the dog would need a trail. And I also don't believe that Peter thinks we're going to get lost in the woods.

Also I'm just going on the last elements of play for Fable1. You killed something or someone, they left experience orbs for you to collect. They looked EXACTLY like what some here are describing as a trail. So until that element has been clearly defined, I'm going to presume that they are just experience orbs.

If they turn out to be trail mix on the highway you all will have to excuse a volcano of laughter from the U.S. that will be audible across the Atlantic! lol

Because a dog doesn't need bread crumbs

The dog acts as a mini map, alerts you of enemies and things like that, but it's mainly there to act as a companion, someone you're supposed to feel attached to.

The bread crumb trail is for leading you towards your various quests, similar to the compass in Oblivion. (which can hopefully be deactivated in this game) But considering you can have numerous active quests, I'm not sure how the dog alone would ever be able to act as a marker for finding all of your different objectives, etc.
