Xbox 360

Microsoft released three new packs for Ninja Gaiden 2 earlier this week, available for 200p a pack. Each pack has five colour variations of the costumes, and the gallery begins with one image of Biometal, two of Fiend Hayabusa and two of Shadow Walker.

Tecmo / ms should give this stuff away for free... cahrging for every mini thing is just crazy IMO.. truth is, its just like hiscore said:

"as customer you have the power to ignore those premium DLC's. Nobody is forcing you to buy them"

I'm not buying though, and I suggers we all give them that same message.
It was Tecmo's decision to charge this much not Microsoft's.

...but...it should be free.

It's not even like the game is loaded with content, and this is a little something extra.
It was rushed and has the shoddy framerate and poor camera problems to prove it and there's barely anything in the way of additional unlockables. Three additional costumes and the Mission Mode SHOULD have been included from the get go for free.

Its 200p for 5 costumes. Big deal, its no worse than spending 150p on a gamerpic you only gone use for like 3 days. $2.50 basically for 5 costumes is all that it is basically. You have a choice and thats not really going to kill you of course, i hope not.

In NG/NGB you got really great costumes for free. Now you see the result of giving the publishing rights to micro$oft.

Damn MICRO$OFT!!!
You really think it's Microsoft? Halo 3 is published by MS yet they have released free stuff. Gears of War was published by MS as well and they too had free things to download. Lost Odyssey had some free DL stuff too if I recall. Didn't PGR3 and 4 have free downloads too?

My point is I think it's more up to the developer than just MS.

Edit: Also, we're talking about a company (Tecmo) that released the same game 3 times before a sequel. NG, NG: Black, and NG: Sigma are more or less the same with an extra here or there.

I can't believe anyone would defend this pricing strategy. It makes me wonder if you really know the value of a dollar. Yes people have a choice, but that's beside the point. For $60 we should have gotten a more polished, more FINISHED product.

If this DLC released a year from now and had substantial content (ie, Hurricane Pack from NG1) I'd understand, but $3 outfits less than a month after release? F'd in the A. And no it's not Tecmo, it's MS. They funded the entire thing this time. Notice the lack of a Tecmo logo anywhere.

No it doesn't have 5 costumes, only different color versions of the base costume or that is what I was told.

I can't believe some are defending this. The games are already expensive and now we should pay even more? I am complaining because I should get these content from the retail copy without any extra.

Only DLC I am willing to pay is some major additions to game. Like expansions on PC games. Not some stuff that comes couple weeks after the game has released. Give me new bosses, new areas, weapons, enemies, costumes and stuff like that in one expansion like package.

I was going to defend this, because the costume designs all look pretty neat. But after seeing those ingame screenshots, they are pretty awful. The last one is the only one I'd consider spending money on, and I'd have to be pretty drunk at the time.

If the other costumes in the pack, weren't just recolours, it may have been a better deal.

Who cares who chose the pricing point. If you're just trying to bash Microsoft, I recommend you look at Nintendo and Sony's pricing strategy, which are both far worse. And let's not get started with Namco.. Bottom line, Microsoft clearly aren't the ones who decide ALL this content, as was said, games like PGR and Halo, frequently have quite large, FREE downloads.

I have to admit, I was weak and bought the Fiend pack, because the color scheme of the second variant reminds me of Skeletor. MotU FTW!

Are you joking? Such a pathetic and cheap way to scrounge money. Disappointing.
Well if they make a game as POOR as Ninja Gaiden 2 they got to find someway to make money back on it

It does have major flaws, but it still has the BEST combat of any game in the genre.

Actually only the first line of costumes are on the disk. Other costume packs are 11MB each. And this is too much for just an "unlock key", if you ask me (especially for a costume lol).

One thing, the hurricane packs weren't free in the past. You had to pay for every content for every game BUT after a certain time, all the content became free. It was some kind of "rule" during old Xbox Live times.

This rule is gone now, since the Xbox 360.

Just another thing. Mission Mode for NG2 will come this month (price not known yet).

It's really pathetic and will only get worse as people buy this nonsense.

It's ironic really, the only people that probably buy this crap are the rabid fanboys, so Itagaki is basicly ripping off his biggest supporters. And as the poor sods keep buying this crap, the games get less and less content and the DLC scam get's bigger and bigger.

We'll all suffer from this in the end...thanks to the rabid fanboys.

Agreed, on all accounts.. what's really sad is that this content was advertised before the game was even released. You could at least pretend not to be withholding content for the nickel and diming, geez.
