PS3

The fans of Killzone 2, and there are many of them, will certainly be delighted to get a new version (all in one) of our E3 videos of the game, reencoded in 720p resolution and properly deghosted. Others are advised to just ignore this news and not troll in the comments. You know who you are.

"it's just a shame you don't do PC gaming videos."

Yeah, always struck me as odd. Some of the greatest games in the world pass by as if they never existed while all those relatively small console exclusives get a ton of attention.

gamersyde = consolesyde apparently.

Its just a shame, they spent all this money, and they cant hire a decent person to play the game good. He was jumping around everywhere with that aimer.

i agree completely with dethstryque and i would also like to add that the difficulty was toned down even more than normal because in an interview they said that they toned the diff so they could show off the game better.

I personally believe that the game couldve been shown off better if they toned the A.I UP, dont you think? Nothing says, "Damn, the A.I is looking sharp!" than the interviewee getting killed a bunch of times.

Well there is no reason to jump on anyone, the AI lprobably ooked bad because they toned it down, that may be the case but it still is dumbed down, and this is all anyone has to go on, so until we see more of the finished code, people will have a bad opinion of how the AI is.

Nobody is saying that the final game will ship with these dumbed down settings and I'm sure selecting a higher difficulty will help.

People look at this video and make thier own mind up, personally I don't think the AI is all that clever, many times I see the enemies in this video stumbling around kind of lost or standing in direct fight without even trying to run for cover.
I dont have a problem with the AI criticism, but when it`s an egregiously false allegation repeated again and again I will lash out at it.
And the problem with this is that im not repeating anything from anywhere, I am looking at a video and coming to that conclusion.

I don't see what the big deal is anyway, as the guy mentioned about the difficultly was probably toned down, although why they would do this is anyones guess because it leaves them wide open for complaints about the AI.

Exactly, and AI's rarely "toned down" anyway. The difficulty settings usually amount to how many hits you can take, and how many hits they can take. It does seem silly showing of a game to the world knowing it will be picked apart and know that you have great AI that constantly take cover, flank, communicate, and dont just stand there... yet show the game off with the AI toned down leaving it open for easy criticism. When it would be far easy programing wise, and far far more sensible, to simply alter the difficulty with hit damage. Or even have a god mode inplace for the demo.

Personally i think this game might end up being a bigger hit with its multiplayer than its single player campaign.

Except the AI does take cover and they do communicate with each other. Also, we havnt seen any of the weather effects, outside of the 3rd level from last year's E3. The campaign is going to rock everyone's socks off, we havnt even seen the most impressive parts of the game.
Look, the AI has lot of potential. Just watch the footage, it's in front of your face.
On a higher difficulty, the AI truly shines because the player cant brute force it. I literally spelled it out for you guys on the last page.

Oh, the irony.

Don't worry DethStryque, I'm not being critical of your response... it's an... inside joke. On the other hand, I must admit that the AI does seem rather dull in most of the KZ2 demos thus far. It's passably dull though. People are generally satisfied with the dumb as bricks AI in most single player FPS titles.

I think toning up the difficulty of the AI will only change the reaction time before they start shooting at you.
I wouldn't expect some incredible difference in behavior which is not to say that the current behavior is bad, infact I think it's quite good.

Guerrilla have already said that they lowerd the AI difficulty so the people that managed to play it at E3 could go through the game without dying too much in order to see a bigger picture of what the game offers :D

I see the touchy fanboys are in their best form handing out insults as usual, nothing new there.

I think Jollipop summed it up nicely, so no reason to explain myself any further.

Mind you, I'd still prefer this poor A.I (as portrayed in these videos) over the endless respawn'-one shot kill- enemies of COD4...but I'm just not blind in seeing the obvious flaws the demos of this game have shown. And I don't think an awfull lot will change in the final version. [/discussion]

I'd seriously start worrying about the A.I in this game, it's horrible! And it has nothing to do with difficulty...a misunderstanding I've been seeing a lot lately.

The A.I doesn't take cover, even if there's cover right next to them, they go sitting right beside it or in front of it. They also have the tendency to just barge forward into a group of enemies without taking a single shot, instead going for a melee attack.

Yeah...great A.I indeed. :{

The A.I doesn't have to be top notch for me to enjoy it, but it has to rise above 'complete moronic' though. The game looks fantastic, gameplay looks tight and intense. If they can make the enemy A.I to take cover and act a little less as complete tools...this could turn out great!
I don't really care. if this game turns out to be awesome, it will be for its multiplayer. I bet the campaign will be pretty neat too, but take CoD4 for instance... the multiplayer is a totally different experience than the Single player, but it's the MP that made the game into the phenomenon it is.

lol dude you can defend this game till the bitter end but the fact is that you dont know that its good anymore than others dont know that its bad ..the campaign and the AI on a higher difficulty. So you can literally try and get your point across in pop up book form if you wish, it doesnt change the fact that none of us here have played the game. So chill out.

Sweet!

if they get the AI right, and enough gameplay variety through SP, this could turn out to be a very good game.
check out the 1up dev studio tour, they talk about AI and from that the AI seems very smart, especially concerning cover.

game looks brill tho, i seriously cant wait for it.

They said they toned-down the AI in every E3 when people played, so really we haven't seen the AI work in full yet ourselves, but those who saw the first reveal saw AI versus AI, and someone said that was really good, so hopefully, the AI will be very good when it comes out.
