Bethesda just released these five gameplay videos of Fallout 3, to be released on PC, Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 on October 31st. The videos are narrated by Todd Howard, the executive producer for Bethesda Softworks. Update: 720p versions added.
I really want to like this game but I see too much Oblivion in it (not good for me), it looks nice but the gameplay looks repetitive (just like Oblivion). Maybe I will rent it if it gets good points on story, but if its anything like Oblivion the story will be non-existent.
It'll get great reviews and majority will enjoy it but I know I will dislike it.
Could someone explain to me how exactly this doesn't qualify as a proper Fallout 3D sequel?
Not trying to be an ass here, just wondering what it is that made the previous Fallout games so great that this game isn't doing in 3D form...give me some concrete examples if you will...

I too would like to know what is making people think this isn't a proper sequel.

That's how we roll! :> I like this game. As long as i can c no fallout 3 from Black Isle and interplay i'll get this 1. Good game and i dont care bout turn based system or like this 1. I want atmosphere and i can see it in this game. Very promissing. Is some1 thinks that r.i.p. fallout... hm... go play fallout 2 or fallout 1 again and again and again cuz thats all what u can get honey. Games... they change.. the only thing that doesn't it's war.

Really impressed with the game following these videos, the E3 ones had really put me off as they looked awful.
I agree. After the E3 videos I was seriously doubting this game. In fact, it almost persuaded me not to buy it. But after these videos, it's one of my most wanted games again.

check out Mass effect...very character driven rpg...honestly its very different from oblivion, far more focused and cinematic...best rpg so far this gen
Hell yeah! Just spent this weekend revisiting that little gem, fucking awesome game! Expecially the Thorian level, just wow!
I'm still on the fence with this one. I like the bleak, post-apocalyptic feel (ala half-life 2), so should provide the goods, but I also didn't like Oblivion much...
This game looks like fun, but It might have too much realism that it gets boring. I really don't find controlling your drug and alcohol intake much fun as well as checking your radiation. Other than that it looks good.
Yeah, there won't be level scaling. Bethesda acknowledged that the biggest criticism of Oblivion was the level scaling and so haven't done that for Fallout 3.
- Around 100 hours of gameplay time (like Oblivion) with over 200 different endings (although I doubt there are major differences between all of them).
- The world isn't quite as large as Oblivion, but Bethesda has said that you won't notice that at all. Loading times and slowdowns will be much lower than Oblivion because the world is slightly smaller.

What I beleive that people say is a lack of character creation in Oblivion is actually a bit similar to the way the Half-life series doesn't let Gordon Freeman speak.
Its so you can feel immersed in your own little story and play through Oblivion as you wish to, not like jRPGs which are good in their own right (I personally love the FF series) but have the characters story pretty much written out for you. You play through the game like reading a book, to find out whats next in the plot.

I don't think that's very accurate. There's a lot more development of Gordon's character, or Link, or the lead in KOTOR than there is of your avatar in TES. I'm not really faulting the game though, 'cause I think it's awesome. TES does exploration like no other RPG.

Ugh….scratch that previous comment. The upcoming Game of Thrones video game is a F’in mobile phone game. Why can’t they came an open world GoT game, like Witcher 3 or God of War? (> 3 Months ago)

- No vehicles (as far as i'm aware).
