We went back to the Festival du Jeu Video today planning to record more footage of Resistance 2, and I'm happy to report that we got another nice video of the game showing the other playable level. The guy playing this time isn't as good as yesterday's, but it's still very watchable. There is as usual no sound to be heard, and you know already how much it pleases me.
Update: Second part is up.

On day one, I kept playing it co-op with my sister so it was very fun...although I wish I could have the entire screen :P
But yeah 8 player co-op on a seperated campaign story seems to be very good, and different classes.
But hey, if we see eachother online playing R2, we can go co-op if you want.
One warning though, I don't have a headset. I am not much of a talker when playing online.
But I do know when my partner/team needs my help, I will give them what they need.

Commented on 2008-09-28 12:24:27Too much "Its ok when (X game) does it but not (Y game)"
I could say the same meh things about FC2, Left 4 Dead, and Gears but I won't since its not a sin when a game doesn't revolutionize the industry. R2 looks good and can stand shoulder to shoulder with any FPS this fall.
Damn, the internet is one hell of an annoying place.
Commented on 2008-09-28 12:33:56 In reply to SathYou're just pretending to act like you're in the throws of making a decision on whether or not you would buy the game just to appear to be dissatisfied overall. That's disingenuous at best and actions befitting a lowlife the least.
One of the titles I am gonna pick up this year.
If someone is not feeling a game so what, everyone has games they like and dont like it dose not make them a fanboy, i have a wii/360 and ps3 and guess what there are games i dont like on all 3 platforms!, some of you guys have to grow up and and understand that someone not liking a game you like, dose not make them a fanboy.

That is definitely going to be very long lasting...
Anyhow R2 is clearly getting all the praise from every place nowadays, its no longer a sepia-brown looking game anymore while gears2 hasn't improved in that department even now. Gears2 doesn't have such a big overhaul in online play and any other co-op mode etc. which is a shame since they had the same timeframe as Insomniac. Insomniac on the other hand are delivering such a playable package that all will be playing well into next year, and that is only the non-online mode I'm telling of...

The first MP-video of Resistance2 I saw (on this site) was just stupidly hectic and looked pretty frustrating, because the spanws where arse-aching.
I hope they fixed that in the meantime...
Oh and needless to say that the game looks great.
Commented on 2008-09-28 13:05:39 In reply to RedneckThere is absolutely no jaggies in sight, DAMN!, clarity-wise it just looked like "Bioshock in 1950's hanger" for a moment... absolutely crystal cut clean stuff, and the thrill is insane too, I'm sure single player's impact will be retained from the first one, and it does look like there is going to be one hell of a ride in SP, judging from the bosses...
Thanks Blim, absolutely stunning stuff !
Commented on 2008-09-28 13:08:15It seems pretty cool otherwise.
Commented on 2008-09-28 13:20:56 In reply to PlumbDrumbMakes the design consistency a little akward, but its for teh better... they look hell more fun to evade and kill, than those "omph" lacking standard Chimera that just spray fire.
Commented on 2008-09-28 13:34:48 In reply to PlumbDrumb... you see they totally look like they've taken over the planet, they are in all forms, small, big, overgrown, intelligent and dumb, consious and zombie-like... all forms are there. This definitely demands inconsistency like if you recall the comedy monster film "Evolution". So many varying forms of Chimera does give a full on feeling that they are very habitable and they totally fit into Earth's atmosphere. These are the Humanistic qualities, and that is actually the threat for mankind... they are more habitual to evolution than man alone.

But we always have PM, even though it takes some time to type, but atleast the typing is fast on PS3 so its all good :)
Those fast Chimera-zombie like creatures reminds me of I Am Legend for sure, but the rest, not so much so it's good.
There are some new enemy types we haven't seen in game yet that is only in render, atleast they got one cool enemy down which is that predator in the forest, very nice.

Commented on 2008-09-28 16:37:54The game was not immersing for me, sadly, i felt like i lost my money buying the game.
I seem to be in the minority, and that's okay, to each his own. But i will not buy the second opus without trying before (and not just the demo, because i bought the 1st one because i liked the demo).
