Microsoft released a new batch of Gears of War 2 images, with hopefully some videos coming soon!
Loakum Ugh….scratch that previous comment. The upcoming Game of Thrones video game is a F’in mobile phone game. Why can’t they came an open world GoT game, like Witcher 3 or God of War? (> 3 Months ago)
Loakum By FAR, the upcoming Game of Thrones King’s Road was the Game of the Show! It plays like God of War Ragnarok! :) (> 3 Months ago)

Commented on 2008-09-30 12:54:53The environment lighting does look slightly flat, but the character lighting is quite stunning - it's clear that the focus was put on the characters.
Even with a couple of graphical issues, it's still the best looking game coming out this fall. No doubt about that.

Commented on 2008-09-30 20:14:28 In reply to Acert93Sure you have tons of poly and texture detail, but the lighting is just... WHAT LIGHTING?
It's just so "flat", as Korndog said; perfect word for it.
I'd be interested to know who the individuals were, that worked on each map.
Commented on 2008-09-30 20:44:01We confirmed in our Interview with Cliff that the rumors posted on Xbox360Fanboy were in fact true. Skorge is a playable [But majorly scaled down from the campaign] character in Gears of War 2’s Multiplayer. While we were playing Horde, we also got talking with SixOkay [Microsoft Community Manager]. I asked him about Skorge being in Horde, and he confirmed that Skorge will be the last enemy you face at Level 50 [Oh...My...God.....SWEET!].
In Horde, there are mini “Skorge-lings” that we weren’t supposed to be fighting against, however we imagine these are the spawn of Skorge [I’m sure we’ll be given some more details on these closer to launch]. As you can see from the images and the description, Skorge is truly a worthy replacement for General RAAM. His badass “Predator” looks, his size and his Dual Chainsaw staff are enough to give anyone a messy nerdgasm.
Let us know what you think of him, as we’ve been extatic about making this announcement for over a week now! [Closer look at his staff below!]

Commented on 2008-09-30 21:32:56 In reply to Acert93As you can see from my link in the main forum with the previous SP footage of Gears of War 2 there has been a technical downgrade. I don't have qualms with people liking what they see, but that doesn't negate the technical downgrade or the fact it looks flat (it does in many shots which is directly related to technical changes in the recent build. Fact.)

Commented on 2008-10-01 00:12:09And then the next, tougher wave will come in and you'll do the same again. Indefinitely, until you die. And then you'll hit "Continue" again and again until it's 3 A.M. and you can't focus on the screen any more.
It's the little nuances that do it. Rather than just getting tougher or increasing in number, each Locust wave evolves the way your team has to play and forces a fresh set of tactics. It'll start out innocently enough, with only a few grunts and maybe a couple of Boomers to deal with, but by the time Gears 2's new Locust start being thrown into the fray your crew will be thinking on their toes, rethinking their weaponry and replanning their tactics with every new configuration of opposition. It's exhilarating, requires total focus and adaptability, and doesn't let up for a second.
Then there's the way the game handles player death. Only one player has to survive through a wave in order to earn the entire team a respawn in the next round. As such, the sense of cameraderie is intoxicating, as dead players watch their sole remaining team-mate battle on against immense odds, screaming encouragement for his Arnie-style, one-man stand to meet with success and pull them all through. And the way that eliminated players can watch the match through wide-angled, controllable cameras or patrol the battlefield in a first-person "ghost" view means that the team is never really broken up. Dead comrades are always able to look out for new threats and yell tactical advice and advanced warnings to their man. Heroes can be made in every round of Horde, but it never happens without the help of their fallen squad.

One team would randomly be spawned as a part of the locust horde, and in control of the AI spawns and routes.

Commented on 2008-10-01 22:02:48Anyway it's still probably going to be a great game. I mean MP should be a lot's of fun and story mode too. They added some great features to it too so I am still waiting to get the game someday. Gameplay > Graphics any day.
