Microsoft also released a couple of images from Fable 2, which is only a couple of weeks away from release.
Loakum Ugh….scratch that previous comment. The upcoming Game of Thrones video game is a F’in mobile phone game. Why can’t they came an open world GoT game, like Witcher 3 or God of War? (> 3 Months ago)

Commented on 2008-10-10 19:10:20as for baleur, im not arguing with that, as i said multiple times, artistically fable 2 is AMAZING, and it helps you forget the technical shortcomings, but just becasue its good doesnt mean those technical shortcoming dont exist.
as for your analogies, they make no sence. take the painting example for instance. what im saying would be the equivilent of a person with huge artistic tellent creating a painting with no meaning or soul. same for you music example and even the book example. a book can be well written, but not have a good story. those are better anologies of what im trying to say.
also, no, art style ISNT everything. if you dont have at least a competant technical side to a game you have something that performs terribly, and looks terrible, no matter how stylised that house may be, if its a jagged, low resolution mess (not what fable 2 is btw) its going to take away from the overall experience. take mass effect...an amazing vision of the future and space exploration, but that texture pop in was distracting as hell) a lot of games today manage to balance to 2. fable 2 however gets an A* in style, but only a pass in the technical aspects.
but i agree with your closing comment. i too would rather look at fable 2 then crysis, but thats becasue crysis has no style at all, its striving for realism. its trying to replicate reality. fable has more visual interest...but that doesnt mean fable 2 is a better or even comparable looking game. it just means it has a more interesting art style, which i've been saying since the begining, its the technical side of the visuals where it faulters, i dont see how anyone can deny that.
Commented on 2008-10-10 22:00:01And has far better textures on top
As for Uncharted, i take that as a joke, Uncharted is generations behind Fable 2 in every way, the scale of the thing is totally last gen
Low textures everywhere ? You wish, that pic alone makes Uncharted look a old, and this is a free roaming game too, not paths
Last but not least i meantioned each and every aspect of the brilliance of Fable 2 engine
- huge detail
- real forests, not paths
- huge number of trees around in a huge scale
- shadows from each leaf to everything around, from all trees around in huge forests
- translucency in tree leaves
- great textures
- huge visibility
- huge cities, no loading in houses
- dynamic shadowed light beams
- 50+ self shadowed NPC's around
etc
So, you either have something to counter the above or not
You have no arguments, so even if you write 100 pages, will mean nothing

Your arguments, as usual childish and non existent
As for Gears 2, when it has something so stunning to show, give me a notice
And the below is free roaming, you can go anywhere, not some narrow scripted places

Commented on 2008-10-11 13:19:15There's actually no point in arguing with you as arguing with someone who thinks their invalid points have merit is useless.

Your opinion does not hold some special importance you know, you have to back it up, or it means nothing
Here it is again, try more

It is one of the best and most cutting edge engines right now, if you want to say i am wrong, just mention why you think it is not, and how all my points above are false
Otherwise you can only make me laugh with your desparate and ignorant comments
Commented on 2008-10-11 20:30:45 In reply to labwarrior- real forests, not paths umm...they've still said there's paths... this isn't going to come even close to something like Oblivion
- huge number of trees around in a huge scale not really... Oblivion has it beat... Crysis even more so
- shadows from each leaf to everything around, from all trees around in huge forests
- translucency in tree leaves show me
- great textures Again, the textures aren't remotely better than anything in any of the other games mentioned
- huge visibility Not from what I've seen... in fact, a few previews mentioned quite a bit of pop in...
- huge cities, no loading in houses The one city I've seen footage of was a decent size... I wouldn't say huge though
- dynamic shadowed light beams I'm not sure what you mean by this. Are you talking about the god rays?
- 50+ self shadowed NPC's around I haven't seen anything of this scale in any footage of Fable 2... I HAVE seen a shitload of enemies on screen in actual GoW2 footage though...and GoW's characters seem like they're a bit more complex than the ones in Fable

Commented on 2008-10-12 03:05:45 In reply to Ronsauce- Oblivion forests are last gen though, and they are repeatitive, the lighting in Oblivion is a last gen joke, that is the point, Fable 2 has real forests, more varied, more detailed and with next gen visuals that look leaps and bounds better than Oblivion last gen lightign and last last gen 2d sprite trees of Speedtree
- Oblivion does not have it beat, they are same because of the LOD, and as i said Fable 2 has real 3D trees, with next gen shading and lighting, not last gen flat stuff, and Cryusis is the only thing coming close indeed
- i see you said nothing onthe shadows, nice
- I will gladly show you, here
http://qsf5.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/08/brightw...
- I did not say textures are better, just that has this huge world and good textures, and shaders everywhere, amkign everything look 3D, especially the ground like below
http://img523.imageshack.us/img523/379/aa01111mt6....
- visibility is HUGE, see pics and my gifs or videos, edpends on time of day though, so is not seen everywhere
- cities are vast and free to roam in all houses, huge castles etc
http://www.xbox.com/NR/rdonlyres/00DA74AC-FB86-4FA...
- yes, god rays everywhere, like those in my gifs i posted, like Crysis ones
- the 50+ NPC's has been confirmed, but you can get any number of NPCs follow you, so you can gather them yourself at any time, even in Fable 1 you could get 50+ NPC's
And i still do not see why i am redicoulous, my points are 100% valid as you see
