Broman I don't agree this game appeals to a bunch of different people...people who don't even like racers are playing the crap out of this game, it's also much better than PURE!!!
Hmmm, why did you feel the need to bash teh Pure?
Not a valid comparison really. I think finding out what has changed between M-PR and the original would be far more constructive.
As it stands, I don't really like either (and I like driving games ALOT).
Never understood the appeal of Motorstorm. When the PS3 was announced together with so-called gameplay movies of Motorstorm and Killzone 2, I was very impressed. Afterwards it became clear it was all CGI. So I played Motorstorm in a gameshop, and I was really dissappointed. Graphics were not even close to the trailer and the gameplay was just arcade. Now, Killzone 2 is coming very soon, and I thought because of the long development time, it would be using the super power of the cell processors and look like the CGI trailer. It comes somewhere close to the CGI, but still I'm dissappointed in what I have seen so far. I don't have anything against the PS3, as I own one and love the console. But when is the PS3 going to show it's power like Sony promised from the start?

But then again, the tracks are wide open here, so i guess Motorstorm 2 wins the visual contest due to that.
By the way, it also has Photo Mode, so you can now pause the game and really go to town and scrutinise all the details to your hearts content and save them too!
Sega Rally looks better, at least in the sand/mud/water pools areas.. And no im not being sarcastic lol, Sega Rally is a damn nice lookin game, and it looks like the track deformation is a bit too shallow in this game.

half agree, although M1 had the better mud/track deformation imo. M2 seems to have toned it down a bit, although i havnt seen all the tracks so who knows. sega rally's mud was rediculous tho, the snow in particular looked like you was driving through whipped cream. lol
what i liked about M1 tho was that the trucks would make huge ditches in the mud, and if you where a bike it'd actually effect your handling trying to drive over all the tracks that had been left.

Have to agree that Sega rally's deformation had a much bigger impact on the gameplay, in Motorstorm it's basically just a visual add-on.
Too bad the physics in Sega Rally were just not my taste
And the best thing is that Pacific Rift is better in every aspect. From gameplay, console AI (real HARDCORE), interaction with enviroment, damage visualisation, etc. to graphic (from all racers only GT5:P and Wipeout HD look better). Simply Awesome!
