well TOV is Xbox 360 exclusive at least it's marketed as it, Eternal Sonata was never that on other hand, but sure took them a year to port it and it's not even released in the US yet.
ES was an OK game. Not my fav current gen JRPG though. Based on some pic comparisons (by a very reputable Japanese site), the 360 version looks a bit better than the PS3 version in quite a few places, but the PS3 version has extra content. Either way I won't pick up the PS3 version in addition to my 360 version.
I never played through it. It was so freaking boring and I hated the childish dialogs, simply horrible.
For me it is the biggest jRPG disappointment in this console generation so far.
If you hate kids in jRPG (you know what I’m talking about) then I recommend passing on this one. Most of you party members are below the age of 10 and the story is told in this matter! *shiffer*
Wow, preview images of a game I played through a year ago.
It was a passable J-RPG, with lovely visuals, but a weak story, terrible animation, poor combat, and bland characters meant it wasn't top tier for me. Lost Odyssey is easily the best J-RPG this gen.

Didn't really take them a year to port... That was just how long it took the timed exclusivity deal to expire. And it was released in the U.S. in October!

I have to disagree with you. IMO, the best J-RPG this gen would have to be Valkyria Chronicles or Tales of Vesperia. Lost Odyssey had terrible animation, bland character designs, and poor story telling devices.
Posted by ACEfromRussia nope. LO is better in all ways
Notice how the poster you replied to said "To each his own." That means everyone has their own opinion, so don't try to force feed yours down someone else's throat.
jackdoe
Played only demo of ToV(full game even didnt anounced in europe) - nothing special - just another "Tales of" game with bad english voice acting and average soundtrack, VC is strategy-RPG/Shooter, not a jRPG like LO.
LO has one of the most drammatic script ever. "story telling devices" - hm...cant find anything poor in cuscenes and dialogs way to tell the story. And it has awesome grafics novella!
And cant find enything bad in animations or char design. Looks awesome and not mediocre ordinary style of eternal wave of common jrpg's.
Cant wait Cry oN and FFXIII/versusXIII. I am tired with soulless cheap crap like ES, IU and Remnant

Valkyria isn't a J-RPG, I don't understand why people keep saying it is. It's a strategy game. Vesperia I was disappointed with mainly due to the simplistic button mashing combat, dull story, and absolutely shockingly awful forced US dubbing.
And you are I'm afraid talking utter rubbish if you are criticizing Lost Odyssey's story. The thousand years of memories sections had the best writing possibly of all time in a video game. They were tremendous in every way. Plus the combat (proper turn based stuff with actual DEPTH!) was great.

Lol. To me, a JRPG is an RPG that comes from Japan and it includes both strategy and turn based. Again, it was my opinion and it is not utter rubbish if I dislike the story. It is an opinion after all.

jesus this took its sweet time. Hate to see how long the ps3 will have to wait for TOV
This certainly wasn't better.
One of the most disappointing JRPGs to come out in a long while.

It's much better than Lost Odyssey I thought, so to each his own.
Beggers can't be choosers, lol!

Wow, some very childish replies in here. How sad.
It's best to just check the media and get the hell out :p
