Page 1 2 >>also, there a damn good dev
also been a platformer, take into account lack of A.I lack of shadows by the looks of it and lack of decent lightint (not slagging it, it looks great, just please dont talk bullshit)
It's amazing to think that first gen PS3 games are looking better than second and third gen 360 games, which has arguably been maxed out in terms of potential. I can't wait to see how things look when devs begin exploiting Cell to the fullest.
Viva Pinata is the last game that did and it still reigns supreme in the graphics dept.

There' s no denying that the Devs are talented but when I heard one of them say that the visuals are easily comparable to Pixars animation I would say look again and look really hard because if there's any game that comes closer to any of Pixars animations than it still is Kameo. And that was a 1st gen game.
I know this is a Demo and I am not worried about the bad frame rate that plagued it because those will hopefully make an exit right before the game goes gold.
Really hope that some of the later levels will incorporate some better challenges other than jump and shoot.
And, yeah, mind you... the visuals in those screenshot have all undergone a polish in Photoshop. That is why they look so slick!

But still the best PS3 game up to date

In fact, if you played the demo on a decent TV you'd know that the game does in fact look that good.
But you are right, there's no denying that the game looks good but not AS GOOD as those slick screenies!
I own Kameo and I have the Ratchet and Clank gamestop demo, as well as the PSN demo of it. They both look significantly better than Kameo does. Kameo looked okay but it was nothing that special. If it wasn't a launch title it would not have had great graphics comparitively.
The Gamestop demo of R&C had some noticeable tearing/performance issues, and the PSN demo doesn't have any sign of them at all. R&C PSN demo is one of the smoothest looking games I've ever played. The art style is just so awesome.
Also if you had ever even played any R&C games, the first level typically is pretty straight forward and linear. It's like ae the "get used to the controls / tutorial" type of level. After that they open up a bit more.
It's funny how fanboys and uninformed people can just jump to these ignorant conclusions.

Yea this game looks great, but no better than Kameo.
And to be fair these screens look quite a bit better than the demo did.

don't judge the gameplay on the demo - if you know the older ratchets you know what I mean... it wont be that linear all the time. (Free Roam Extensive Environments)
Brian Allegier, creative director for Sony’s Ratchet & Clank franchise, talks with Mercury News gaming writers Dean Takahashi and Mike Antonucci about the latest Ratchet game. Brian confirms that RCFTOD will run at 60 frames per second, include Free Roam Extensive Environments, Optional game points, 16 hours+ game play, extensive replay value, unlockables, and extras.
I'll have to try it and see if there is a difference.
Quoting you:
"It's funny how fanboys and uninformed people can just jump to these ignorant conclusions."
I think this holds more truth than you actually thought before typing it. Because it comes directly from an ignorant, confused mind that can't stand anybody's opinion when it conflicts with your unerring blinded devotion to what probably cost you a years salary!
Sorry, shouldn't have said that because it also cost me a years salary!
Bottom line: The game will undoubtly be awesome but we will have to see what the finished product will be like.
Btw: just saw that R&C got its second review and scored a terrific 89%! It's no 100% but close nevertheless! Hope you can sleep over that score tonite my friend!

And you had the audacity to call me a troll.

Ratchet & Clank: Tools of Destruction however is one of the best looking games to be released on any platform this year yet you think it looks at most as good as Kameo? You Sir, are the troll.
also, there a damn good dev
I agree with Manny here, that Insomniac are a great developer and far outweigh the competition at the moment, as they seem to have embraced the Cell`s akward architecture way better than anybody else has........yet.
True, it is a platformer, but it`s one of those games that`s lived up to the hype with regards to the visuals. The demo was a tad straight forward, but in 1080p it looked simply stunning!. Maybe it`s simplicity was down to the fact that a demo should be fun, not tiresome.
Either way, this game, coupled with Uncharted, are my two most wanted PS3 games this year. Add to that all the great 360 releases (Mass Effect etc) and pc games such as Tabula Rasa, and we`re in for an absolutely amazing gamer-fuelled xmas of epic proportions me thinks! :0)
