[eM] -eNCHANT arM- Scans

For the last time I think, here are 2 scans of [eM] -eNCHANT arM- from the latest Famitsu Weekly. Hopefully I'll be able to make some videos of the game starting next week end.

From what I've heard, localization on the game has already begun and it's expected to hit the U.S. during Spring '06. Nothing has been officially confirmed though.

This will probably be the first RPG I'll be buying for 360. Unless Oblivion comes sooner, but then I'm not decided whether I'll play that on PC or 360.

Is the Xbox 360 really getting so much attention in the Japanse gamingpress, or is it just that I happen to read a lot about it on sites like this? And how is this all, all these upcoming Asian RPG's etc, affecting Xbox 360 sales in Japan?
Commented on 2006-01-09 01:45:23
I've checked out the japanese part of xbox live and they are doing a damn good job of advertising enchant arm over there.

It like shows up on every page mostly.

I don't care what score it got I've learned to not fully trust those game sites and their reviews. There are some that I trust, but this one I'll find out for myself. Like I said before though as long as there are tons of options while you are in battle and there are loads of special abilities and moves I'll be a happy camper.

And if it comes to the US I hope it's region free (well I can't understand and read Japanese) as us in Europe would also like to play this game as well.

Actually the 360 has gained ALOT of popularity in japan recently. Since dead or alive 4 came out it instantly debuted at #4 on the games chart and the number of consoles sold were almost triple the amount that sold before. Microsoft is smart in the way they are handling japan they only sent 100,000 out there to begin with. Those consoles will run out come the time the games people REALLY want and that will create a large demand. Its all a well thought out strategy.

The biggest problem I've noticed with Microsoft in terms of games is if a game isn't a MONSTER hit they don't make a sequel regardless if the game showed alot of promise. Thats a big reason why sony dominates. Any games introduced that show a good amount of potential they will later make new versions that hope to drastically improve on the shortcomings of the previous one and thats how they create these great sought after franchises that later on define their console.

Regardless of how enchant arm does there better be a sequel trust me when I say that will be the true test of if microsoft is going to make a huge turn around in japan. They can't give up on games that have the potential to become large franchises and enchant arm definetly has that potential to be as huge as a final fantasy they just can't give up on it.

For example I want to see an OTOGI game on the 360!

X360 Otogi... Me too!

Just imagine what enchant arm could be 2 sequels from now.. like enchant arms 3 can you imagine how sick of a game that'd be? MIcrosoft needs to make sure franchises like this keep on coming.

Yea you are right on that one. Microsoft need to make sequel of games like that, for instance phantom dust ive played that game and i really love it, i play with my friends and all seems to like the idea the game as, microsoft gives up too fast on games that could be big...I'm looking forward to see Otogi on xbox360 that should be a killer title, would also want an new marakumo game too that was good to me i think i was a cool game....also one that i play till this day ...they was about to make a sequel and the company shuts down b4 it came out...Quantom redshift that was a good game fast paste good weapons i love it and i still play it every now and then...but anyway im looking forward to playing em enchat arm it looks kool . and From Software need to make a new Otogi game for the Xbox360...

High Definition is the same everywhere, no frame rate differences, although the developers might choose to put region locks on them.

I think the main advantage of franchises is that they build up a lot of support for a game over a long period of time. I myself enjoy original IPs just as much as a GOOD sequel (Otogi 2, Splinter Cell series).

On topic, this game does have a good amount of appeal to me but it’s mostly because its an RPG and I have not yet got one for the 360.

Looks nice..but the shot showing turn based (or even grid based, or is that the same, lol)
battling..it's a big no no for me.
Commented on 2006-01-09 18:57:40
I kinda dig the strategical effects of grid/turnbased combat.

Though, I like real-time combat as well.
Probably a mood thing, heh.

Yea if you continue to build on a certain franchise people would be more willing to buy into it knowing that it has a future. Or that they aren't engaging themselves into a lost cause regardless of how good the game is.
