You might have noticed if you are not using an ad-blocker that the ads lately on gamersyde have been getting more and more intrusive. Even though I'm personally quite happy not to have to pay some of the site's expense out of my own pocket anymore since we switched to our current ad network, this latest type of ads is utterly and absolutely not acceptable. We are currently working with our ad partner to ensure these are never to be seen again on the site (please let us know on the suggestions forum if you see any of these again starting tomorrow), and I hope we'll be able to bring you guys the same quality of browsing as we had before. We are also thinking about another way of financing the site, so if you are interested, read on inside this news!
We are thinking about using a site like Patreon to have an alternate way of financing the site besides regular ads. For those who never used that site, it allows you to give an arbitrary sum of money to someone or a company, on a monthly basis.
This generosity would of course mean a few things for our patrons, like ads being disabled (of course), a special mention on the forum account, a dedicated download server, little things like that. Needless to say, no current (or future as far as I can tell) feature of the site will find itself magically restricted to our sponsors, you should know us well enough by now to know this would never happen. :)
What do you think about that idea? Would you be willing to help us financially with a patreon-like system?

@Sdarts: No lies detected man, very true. I don't know why I didn't notice it before, then again my only way of seeing a HDR game was via a video or two. But now with my own games and being able to (1 Hour ago)

@Moonwalker: HDR does more for that "Wow!" factor than just increasing resolution to 4K. (2 Hours ago)
Tried out FM7 demo, FH3, Recore and man....what a difference. SDR looks dull in comparison now, jeez. In terms of colours for starters, sky and sun in FM7 and FH3 looks lovely, vivid. (2 Hours ago)
Good lord, i just truly witnessed HDR. And now i see what all the hype is about. Xbox One S let's you enable/disable HDR on the fly and you can easily notice the differences then. (2 Hours ago)
