They created an interesting, well paced dynamic trailer! Obviously have a lot of experience now after making so many videos.

Never played any AC games tho, only one of the first ones for a few minutes.

Well At least they didn't use Dubstep this time..
Got to say I'm not expecting much from this, Haven't even played AC3 yet but the Piracy theme is appalling to me. I've always wanted a Open world pirate game.

Yeah, if you could just take out the assassins and the templars and completely overhaul the game mechanics, that'd be great!

It's a vast improvement over the depressingly dull and disturbingly racist AC3. Looks very much like a current gen game though.

Funnily enough, it was just the same with the Red Dead Redemption trailers and nobody cared. The same goes with GTA V, we saw basically most of what could be done in the game and it makes people want to play. There must be something about Ubisoft, or more likely about Rockstar. Yet, gameplay mechanics in Rockstar games are far from being the best out there (clunky controls when on foot, terrible gunplay mechanics compared to other third person shooters, boring mini-games, etc.).

Don't get me wrong, I loved Red Dead and I'm really looking forward to GTA V, but it seems nobody wants to see their flaws, which includes the way they're advertised too. I think the main difference is that the Rockstar guys don't release many trailers or images. When they do, they show just as much as the other games in a couple of videos only, but since it's rare, people are eagerly waiting to be spoiled. Ubisoft would be well inspired to follow their example. Because they've released so many episodes in the past few years, and because they can't stop making trailers (which are basically all very similar as, in the end, we haven't really seen much of the game to be honest), they are going to bore people out even more (if possible).

I have played Assassin's Creed 1 and 2. And liked them a lot. 3rd AC is under consideration, but it may be that I won't get it after all. Because I am not planning on getting AC4.

I just find it stupid that whaling has to be in this game. I can't imagine how whaling would be a nice thing to do. Something that people would like. Is it like targeting reticule must be pointed at hard to hit target. Then pushing the button rapidly to get that nice harpoon deep into the creature. And then trying to keep your ship or boat balanced when the whale is struggling, bleeding and slowly dying. The whale would be the one that I would root for.

I feel your pain. AC3 is sitting on my shelf wrapped since the day of release. Unless they overhaul everything from visual style to combat/movement mechanics it is not going to change. Gameplay is simply not appealing.

I think the whaling thing is in there because that was a real deal back then. Perhaps that action in the game will promote sympathy from more people, you never know. It was a part of life in those days and I don't see why we should gloss over some of the "uglier" facets of history.

I actually loved AC3( near completionist), but I also hadn't played one since AC2 so I'm not burnt out yet :)

Whaling is happening nowadays too. Making it something that is potentially fun is disturbing. I do realize the difference between real life and gaming, mind you. But of all the violence in games, violence against basically defenseless animals just feels bad.
