Nvidia released a bunch of images of Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag showing how incredible the game will look in 4k resolution. If you're too poor to afford a new TV and a powerful graphics card, then enjoy the images!

I love the way PC is moving to 4K while the "next-gen" consoles are struggling to do 1080p.
98% of the pc's now and most of them next year will struggle running games 4k max settings. And secondly we dont need 4k resolution for gaming. We need better animations, better lightning and other stuff. Even VR has more impact visually than polishing turd up to 4k res.
I'm surprised at how well the textures stand up to such a high resolution. But yes, as has been said many times before, this is about as good as we can expect from a game that was built primarily to run on current gen consoles

Moving to 4k LMAO That non-existent 4k TV you have must look very impressive. Maybe more people will have them in another couple of years, but most people don't have that ridiculous kind of money. That's a $10k TV with an already expensive computer to run 4k resolution. Thanks, but I'll stick to 1080p for now, as sub-par as it is.

I take it you guys never heard of downsampling. Check it out, it's quite magical.

I take it you never completely read somebody post. Try it, makes communication much easier.
My reply was more aimed at bubble than you, my apologies if it made you upset.
To answer what you've wrote more directly: Instead of better graphics or higher resolutions, why not have both? That's the best thing about PC gaming :)

Downsampling? Really? Come on. We're better than that.

You can buy a 4K PC monitor for £2000 or so, and prices will surely drop rapidly next year.
how many years microsoft and sony has planned to run their new consoles? max 7 years? By then 4k monitors and TVs will be more cheaper. On PC people will be able to enjoy 4k resolution or more but consoles will still struggle to get 1080p 30fps. this gap is getting bigger and bigger

But yes, sure, the engine being compatible with current gen hardware, it can't look way more impressive than that.

As for 4K, what? At about 2fps? We can barely get games to run in 1080p at 60fps on ultra settings, let alone this!
