Looks pretty damned cool. I just have a hard time picturing how they are going to pull this off as explained. Are you piloting the ship from a 3rd person perspective, and then "switch modes" to combat mode where you aim the cannons?
They also show Connor in the crows nest scouting, along with boarding ships, but it seems like all these would be pretty hard to pull off convincingly. I guess maybe the ship gameplay is context sensitive depending on where you are at on the ship? Or perhaps you play as the captain and control the steering, scouting, and cannons all at once? Maybe there are navigation, combat, and boarding "sections" to the ship gameplay? I guess I would like to see more of how this plays out.
michaelob I think I heard them once say you start out as one rank and work up to owning your own ship. Likely the roles will just change throughout the game.
