Yeah i wish Doom 2016's hell looked a bit more like that...

Agony reached it's VR funding goals but still no word about the supported platforms.
Anyway, i'm in day 1.

As i don't want to die from having my heart burst out of my chest and explode, i think i'll skip this in VR.

Idk if it's just me but i find Resident Evil 7 to be far less scary in VR.

Maybe it's just because of the "fun" factor or maybe because i can just turn my head to see behind me whereas i can't with the TV. If any of that makes any sense lol.

Fear is subjective after all. Some fear what they could see, some fear what they can't see.

VR made resi almost unbearably scary for me. On a screen it just felt really mundane in comparison.

Well, the horror games, and even horror themed action games, i've played in VR are just too scary. Not just jump scares either, shit coming at me with the headset on just makes me panic. Didn't play RE7 with VR since i have a Vive, but the games i've tried are still too much for me. Left Hand Path looks like complete garbage if you look at screenshots of it, but i can't play it for more than like 10 minutes before the stress becomes unbearable for me. Added to that, i love horror games otherwise.

Maybe it's just that RE7 isn't that scary. It's mostly dumb and corny, at least without VR.

If anyone wants a good Youtube channel about games like these, check out Survival Horror Network. No commentary and does quality videos.

About the game

What's up?

GriftGFX I wasn't really setting up any specific comparison at all. I said modern phones and many PCs. That's pretty vague. You can set whatever limits on that you want. (35 minutes ago)
  • GriftGFX
GriftGFX Granted.. synthetic benchmarks are just that.. but in Geekbench 4 a Snapdragon 835 can outperform a Q9550.. which is definitely faster than the E6600. (50 minutes ago)
  • GriftGFX
GriftGFX My personal history of personal computing goes back to 8-bit computers. I think 2017 ARM CPUs are amazing. (52 minutes ago)
  • GriftGFX
GriftGFX @droezelke: I said E6600.. and its single core performance in synthetic benchmarks is certainly comparable. But yes. You can go back to the 80s. I didn't say anything about them being modern. (53 minutes ago)
  • droezelke
droezelke @GriftGFX: no, a snapdragon 835 does not have computing power of a Q6600 (9 years old). Do you really want to go further in time to prove your statement made sense? (58 minutes ago)
  • GriftGFX
GriftGFX And "many" isn't a specific number. There are many 8088s :D (1 Hour ago)
  • GriftGFX
GriftGFX But the exponential rate of progress means that you don't have to go back too far to make that true. A lot of the progress here was done in our lifetimes. That's amazing. (1 Hour ago)
